Private User re: matches on Iowa Itasca Greener ... the one match I see with MyHeritage is simply an index into the US SSDI (Social Security Death Index). As I only recently learned, nobody has on-line access to the record images; you have to write to the state that holds the record and request a copy!
Some of the databases which are indexed through MyHeritage (such as FindAGrave and the US Census) are free to view; other databases often require payments from MyHeritage and so access to those databases requires a MyHeritage Data subsription --- but you can still at least view the summary information in the list.
Regarding the free matches you found and already noted as Sources: One of them, FindAGrave, is one that often -- but not consistently yet -- is indexed for free through MyHeritage. The others you found seem to be through FamilySearch.org -- which is also a great site to use.
The Sources you independently add to your Geni profiles are not search as part of the "matching" by MyHeritage.
Private User The problems started with the integration. I think the first posting was here http://www.geni.com/discussions/113724?msg=867998
This was my message to Noah.
I got an email saying that a merge had been completed so as usual I went to the profile, resolved data conflicts and went to his Nearby merge issues. It showed Requested merges 0 Tree conflicts 4 Data conflicts 4
Clicked on Tree conflicts and there are 17 and now shows Requested Merges 15. Click on requested merges and It tales me to my merge center.
This has happened on the last three profiles I have tried and the initial numbers 0, 4 and 4 are always the same.
Nothing has changed and many people are reporting the same issues.
What are you doing in the Merge Center that works for you?
Eldon Lester Clark I can't view the original posting to that URL.
My regular tree matches are showing up in the old area of the merge center and profiles are merging when IU merge w/ collaborators. Yes, there are some conflicts, requested merges, and conflicts that have been "stuck" in my merge center no matter what I do, but those were the latest release. Whether they coincided with Geni running the matches behind the scenes or not, I don't know. I guess I misunderstood what you were referring to - sowwie ;)
Eldon Lester Clark maybe the link is a curator restricted chat?
ohhh... yes, when you change tabs it goes back to the default on the pull-down menu, but when you change it again it seems ok meaning it stays on the same choice on the pull-down menu as i go from page to page. you probably have more pages of stuff than i do though.
if you get a url string that has something along the lines of &page=2 in it try changing the number at the end and see if that gets you where you want to go.
Mike Stangel -- starting to see relative long response times intermittently on the "assets'n'.geni.com" again (no timeouts yet, but long enough to show the name and start to wonder ...)
also the text in the 'place of...' boxes looks different

I am trying to change a date on a profile using 22/8/1899 and it's telling me it's an invalid date for profile: http://www.geni.com/profile/edit_basics/6000000018290389615
