I have found in many office info ,that they often do this with date as they don't really know the correct date. Geni should allow for born between or date with ? make as they do in many books written in linagage of certain people. I don't know if this is the case here.

Yes, although they are continually updating the programming. (I think not a day goes by without a Curator bugging them to write a programme update for something or other. It's a wonder they're still talking to us :-)
This is one we've nagged about - and me especially - but I think it involves a big programme change. Mike Stangel (Geni's 'Obi Wan' programmer) maybe you can help me out with a better worded technical explanation here?

We agree that we need to support before/after/between dates. We've done some work on that front, but have nothing to announce just yet.

Not only before/after/between dates, - you also need a from-to classification and probably also a calendar marker
