Need some help figuring out the correct parents and spouse for Joseph Clark.
* Rowland Clarke, of Banham & Dedham & Mary Clarke
* Thomas Clarke, of Westgate & Mary Clarke
It seems a little clearer on the spouse, with some sources specifically saying that the wife is Alice Fenn and not Alice Pepper, being listed incorrectly previously by Torrey.
I haven't had enough time hashing this out, so any help or information someone has to clear things up would be appreciated.
According to this thread: http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.clarke/740.857.1.1/mb.ashx
It says:
Consult "The English Ancestry of Joseph Clark (1613-1684) of Dedham and Medfield, Massachusetts," by Christopher G. Clark, in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Jan. 1998 issue. This will completely answer your questions about his parent's and his wife's identity (it's Alice Fenne, not Pepper).
If anyone has access to that, it would appear to be helpful.
Jeff the NEW ENGLAND MARRIAGES book I purchased From Genealogoy.com, it gives his wife as Alice PEPPER, but as 2/wife.
Also said. he was in Englane before1641 . Gave Alice PEPPER date as1628-1710, Dedham.
The bool list 3 Joseph Clark in DEDHAM,The first has wife alice Pepper.
The Joseph Clarke of Medfield is married to Mary Allen, third
also in Medfield is married to Mary Wright.. Just a little late.

Patricia - is this Torrey's New England Marriages prior to 1700? If so it's a fabulous resource.
The way to use that book to figure out parents is by the birth / death dates & the underlying citations Torrey references.
Once you have the vital statistics in order from Torrey on the profile, town vital records are the best resource for identifying parents, and many of those can be found for free on line, or using the paid databases at ancestry.com or even better, Americanancestors.org. The latter is run by NEHGS - the New England Historical Society.
