Not sure WHY they were isolated rather than merge but dupes showing:

John Thomas Bompasse, DUP
John Thomas Bompasse, DUP
John Bompasse

Neither one is in a project, so I don't know where else to bring attention to the fact that they're exact duplicate MPs:

Alexander
Alexander

If there were two full-blooded brothers both named Alexander born one year apart in 242-243 BC, then it should be noted and documented in their Abouts.

It may seem petty, and you're right, it is. Because neither of them have any descendants. It just bothers me for some reason.

Added biography to Alexander and merged dup.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087

Dups were isolated because this is the real Edward Bumpas No parents are accepted by genealogists.

The extra John Thomas Bompasse’s will be sent for deleting in due course. I’ll add a link to the “main” John Thomas Bompasse to the real Edward, but I’m not going to make Bompasse MP as there’s no references for him.

Erica Howton
I don't think I am effected by it as I don't focus on the time period but someone brought the dupes to my attention and that is when I saw two were isolated. This is why I posted.
Seems easier to merge and keep the managers but it's always been my opinion to try to preserve the "provenance" of the profiles whenever possible.

Not when it's before 1600 & incorrect / unproven information. Edward Bumpas was difficult to get beyond the legendary.

Agreed

Matches in my merge center today (Oct. 31):
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000007150870166&src=profile&cmp=btn (Sir John Rous, Knight)
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000003649761855&src=profile&cmp=btn (Sir Thomas Le Rous)
The stick tree has duplicated down to William Rous (old) vs Sir William Rous, Knight (new).
The new tree, added today, continues with matches (Sir William Rous, of Dennington (MP) vs Sir William Rous, Knight (new)) to Thomas Rous, of Dennington & Henham Hall (MP) vs Sir Thomas Rous (new).
The new profile has a son - john Rousse - who is not in the established tree.
The next match is john Ross (Oct. 2022) vs john Ross (Oct. 2024). The users appear to be the same person, just different addresses.

Both of those addresses have already gotten messages from me about long medieval duplicate trees. This is the third duplicate tree created by the one working today. On it.

Private User - I thought something looked "fishy" with them.

Any hope for help on these matches in the Dutch Medieval tree: (I have no desire to make a mess of the Tree.)
1. https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000026040517844&src=profile&cmp=btn (Jan (III) van Groesbeek (2014) vs Jan (III) van Groesbeek (2024))
2. his wife - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000026039782776&src=profile&cmp=btn (Beije van Groesbeke (2014) vs Beije van Groesbeke (2024))
These Dutch families are in my tree because some Scotsmen fled to Holland and then to New Amsterdam. (Unlike the Pilgrims, there was some intermarriage of the Scotsmen and the Dutch.)

From my tree matches just now:
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=377175174880012288&src=profile&cmp=btn (William Tomkyns, of London) The new tree continues with duplicates for John Tomkyns, of Leominster; James Tomkyns, of Hereford & Thomas Tomkyns, of Hereford The user was quite active yesterday into today in the Tomkins tree.

Private User - Thanks for posting this. His second wife has duplicated parents.
Please see https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=86436662530.

From my merge center - Nov. 9th:
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000003266368976&src=profile&cmp=btn (Lord Augustine Steward, Mayor of Norwich)
Cutpoint for isolation The early part of the stick-and-spouse tree comes down to Thomas Smallpiece (MP) vs Thomas Smallpiece (new). The new profile has a wife and son that are not in the "old" profile but no sources.
'Missing link in the "old" tree' - Please consider connecting Thomas Smallpiece with Thomas Smallpiece This "old" possible duplicate has been here since 2018. It has the wife and the son. It does not continue.
The "new" stick-and-spouse tree continues down to Maria Frost

Added in my merge center today (Nov. 11):
1. https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000008461056829&src=profile&cmp=btn (Nicholas Pershale) This stick-and-spouse tree stops at Humphrey Peshall, of Horsley (old) vs Humphrey de Pershale (new). The new tree adds a daughter not currently on Geni - Jane De Sandford The new tree next encounters matches at https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000210879937821&src=profile&cmp=btn and https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000003307159751&src=profile&cmp=btn. The new tree ends at Thomas Bew who was added as the father of an existing profile. Manually added all of the profiles, but no sources provided.
2. https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000002649934171&src=profile&cmp=btn (George Thompson) This has been hanging around since 2020. (Were you intending on isolating the duplicate and his wife?)

I reverted some NO NAMES and dates and dupes came up.
Need a curator please:
Marjorie Graham

This has been hiding for a bit:
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000210846826836&src=profile&cmp=btn (Lord Walter Fitz-walter vs Lord Walter Fitz-Walter) The one on the right adds a daughter not on the left. Note: the daughter was undeleted by the user the day after it was deleted.

hi user Private User ,
you seem new: ask for help here for conflicts caused by someone merging your duplicates in medieval Arnold von Dorstadt XII /!\

and please don't upload cute colored JPGs to decorate the trees:
here they are used to highlight profiles that contain info and multimedia links to sources.
(for 1000 reasons, including then orienting oneself to seek the sources to repair the damages:)

highlighting everything everywhere is something that is seen continuously, but by new new users who shouldn't edit the medieval by themselves.
Also uploading the same JPG repeatedly more than once on the same profile is a sign of first day, since we with a single JPG can tag all the sourced characters of the family in it.

I hope they can help you.. if nothing else in the basic procedures ^^'

hi, Private User
everything you noticed about Arnold von Dorstadt was it just a JPG you didn't like? :)

hi PRO, Jan Sem Dambæk
yes yes I know provably innocently you just simply answer "YES" to some automatic message about merges.. as if it were an opinion, but in reality are you initializing a ton of work to do ^^'
for example this week on: Gunnhild Trondsdotter
& Gunnhild Trondsdotter#/tab/revision and who knows what else..

You think I'm here to tinkle the admn of a merged thing initialized in september :)
You think it concerns the 1200, I don't even know in which remote part of the north :))
You think that not even any of the admns who inserted both sides merged, not even now tinkling here have noticed anything :)))
You think that after this, the only action was to remove a JPG that reported on the merge that in reality the nice colored COAs all long in the line did not contain absolutely nothing of sources, but not even a shred of info-about :))))
Well you see, I as spaghettieater I don't go up there to fix :*

yes well but in reality there is a way to discover the trail of own conflicts caused and abandoned:
-https://www.geni.com/list/tree_conflicts [drop-down menu "Updated by Me"]

then arm yourself with patience and ask for help in this forum,
(being a paying user maybe you will also have a bit of priority:)
