Today's (July 25) matches:
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=4623775273170039502&src=profile&cmp=btn (Joan D'Aubeney) The other side added in 2014 with the husband. But his name is messed up.

Today's (July 27) match: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000006444583219&src=profile&cmp=btn (John Farringdon) The other side was added in July 2008. Just the match and his wife.

Jean De Armagnac, V can,t be the father of Pierre de Beaureparie (De Armagnac) Jean De Armagnac, V

John V, Count of Armagnac https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_V,_Count_of_Armagnac

Countship Armagnac
Predecessor John IV
Successor Charles I
Born 1420
Died 6 March 1473
Wife (1) Isabelle, Lady of the Four-Valleys (marriage illegal)
(2) Joan of Foix
Father John IV
Mother Isabella of Navarre
John V of Armagnac (Fr.: Jean V, comte d'Armagnac) (1420 – 6 March 1473) was the penultimate Count of Armagnac of the older branch. He was the son of John IV of Armagnac and Isabella of Navarre.

Both of these profiles appear to be misplaced in terms of the lineage and timeline.

They dont appear to fit correctly in their current location in the tree.

Surely someone more knowledgeable than me can find the correct home for them?

I hope here was the place to put them. Thanks.

Susanne Floyd — Yes, they were medieval. Thanks!

From my merge center today (July 29):
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=5167685659070038226&src=profile&cmp=btn (Thomas Ferrers, Esq.) The other side added today.

Cut point: Richard Ferris (old) vs Richard Ferris (new). The new profile has a son who has these tree matches: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000207712524910&src=profile&cmp=btn.

This tree match appeared in my merge center today: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000006444299812&src=profile&cmp=btn (Maude Matilda Fitzhugh) The other side is her aunt who needs to be corrected on the dates.
Definitely not my area of expertise. So I will leave it to those who know more.

I've had to master Maude Matilda Fitzhugh and her aunt (no locks) to prevent another merge.

Another tree match for today: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=349102367930012634&src=profile&cmp=btn (Alice Sorrell Olmstead) The other side has been around for a while.

Someone is messing up the ancient norman noble lines. A lot of lines seem to have changed around the Plantagenets and near. Must've happened recetly. I trued to look but couldn't see on revisions..I suspect they have to do with My Heritage, if possible? Some people are creating echoes by using MH as a source for geni and then the thing bounces back and forth using faulty trees on MH as the source...Not a great feat.

Can you link any profiles so we can inspect revisions tabs? It seems unlikely without discussions; most of the oldest lines are locked.

I was looking at tge revisions but could not see anything on the profiles I checked so they must be elsewher on my path to them. I just noticed several ancestors have become as far as 5th cousins and those things must have been somewhere between Robert the Bruce and the Plantagenets, is my best guess. Unfortunately I was not able to exactly locate the changes but changes there are, that is for sure. The revisions looked like they'd been cleaned up. All I could see was people removed from managers and I pressed the "show more" but it didn't work for some reason. I will see if I have time tomorrow to try and find something tangible, but right now it's nearly 3AM here so I need to get to sleep. But anyone checking, keep an eye on lines between Robert the Bruce's family/relatives towards and around the Plantagenets and William the Conquerer's lines. It must be around them somewhere.

Erica Howton - Here is Robert the Bruce from my tree - Robert I the Bruce, King of Scots

To be merged, if possible?

Why not just request management instead of creating a duplicate?

Sorry, I discover only then, when I have created already,
I am rather new here. I do not know yet, which button I should press for being in line with the regulations of Geni. Can you explain? Please. I am prepared to follow.
Egon

Hi Egon. All good - we all had to learn the system. At the top right of the profile there is a drop-down menu that will give you the option to Request Management.

Many thanks for your help. Contemporaneously I withdraw my request to consider merging the 2 Wernikinds. I am about to learn the regulations. Best regards Egon Biechl

:-) Egon - I did merge it in for you. Just wanted to alert you that you should be merging in your tree much lower done in the one world tree to avoid creating duplicates higher up.

Dear Sharon, many thanks for your understanding and for your very suitable advises. Egon

Hi, this merge presented itself in my Merge Center and It doesn't seem to fit:

https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000007606691461?to=600000020...

I can't find where Humphrey Stafford, of Grafton had a daughter named Elizabeth as the new profile Humphrey Stafford is trying to add to "Humphrey and Catherine." Not sure who parents of Elizabeth Adams were. No sources on profile.

This showed up in my merge center: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000000689153824&src=profile&cmp=btn (Elizabeth Prudden)
The other side was added in 2013. Inactive manager.
The stick-and-spouse tree goes one more generation but did the grandson instead of the son. (Thomas Prudden (new) looks like a duplicate of Thomas Prudden, II (old)) Thankfully, the abandoned tree ends here.

Should I do something? Egon

Egon Biechl — as far as I can tell, you are just fine. Your main duplicates have been isolated, and I’ve sent you my usual message — and please message me if you need help!

Dear Anne Brannen, many thanks for your understanding reply. I shall do my best for not disturbing farther. Many thanks Egon

From my match center today (August 4): https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000028382350382&src=profile&cmp=btn (Ralph Radus de Hyde) The other side added August 1, 2024.)

Cutpoint: Thomas Sadler (old) vs Thomas Sadler (new). The new profile adds a son not currently on Geni.
The manually added stick-and-spouse tree continues to Elizabeth Spackman This profile has its own tree match (https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000207594392840&src=profile&cmp=btn).
There are additional tree matches for each generation down to George Spackman Note: The new tree does continue to the user.
The next cutpoint is Sarah Hunter (old) vs Sarah Anne McMillan (new). The tree match already exists for this - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000078352101083&src=profile&cmp=btn.

I think the new tree for Thomas Sadler adds value to a sparse / under managed area and does not add much risk. I will merge.

is there a way to add certain members to my family tree and keep it from merging to others' trees??
