Private User - when its an old dup, its not just a dup. This discussion was initially (and still mostly) meant to capture new duplicates and educate members, don't do that, we already have it, thank you!
What you saw as perhaps a simple name cleanup I saw as "oh my, this genealogy needs a visit." And that's best done by separate discussion. The tree was / is fine. I'm still struggling with a good display name. https://www.geni.com/discussions/184700?msg=1235939
Private User - Thanks for pointing this out.
It's a stick-and-spouse tree, manually added, in Germany.
To me, It could be safely cut at https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000207886178831&src=profile&cmp=btn (Johann Friedrich Müller).
The new tree has "shells" (no names or dates) for the next generation but does have names for the succeeding generation.
A recent merge left duplicate(s), conflict(s) behind.

Just now, a user did a pile of merges that began with Thomas Wilkinson, Sr and ended with Robert Wilkinson (There are a few more.)
I have messaged the user requesting that they not do merges that go back before 1600. (I would do the reversals, but my eyes are getting blurry.)
Private User - Thanks for the quick response to my post.
I'm showing another (!!) pending tree match for Robert Wilkinson (https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000003729768468?return=match%3B&to=6000000007604250669) dating back to 2010. But the mother and siblings do not agree.
And another manually added stick-and-spouse tree just added starting with Walter Cotton, Sheriff of London (https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000020409070763&src=profile&cmp=btn). The cutpoint is Katherine Martin (old) vs Katherine Martin (new). The new profile adds a husband and child continues into Plymouth Colony. And another tree match.
Another tree from the user who caused the mess with Walter Cotton, Sheriff of London
This one starts with https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000176192021008&src=profile&cmp=btn (Thomas Campe). The cutpoint is in Colonial Connecticut - Ezekiel Sanford (MP) vs Ezekiel Sanford (new)
Bonjour

I had almost a major in French in college Diane Sevigny, but it is easier to read than speak or write now. I made a draft first and then used a correction program to try to help with errors, but I don't trust them. Oh well, it was a fun challenge and I hope helpful. Thanks.
Bonjour Suzanne Floyd
Excusez moi pour ma réponse tardive.

2 x MP Trees with separate ancestors and descendants.. Based around:
2 x Sir Edward Rogers:
Sir Edward Rogers
Sir Edward Rogers, MP
2 x Mary Lisles:
Lady Mary Rogers
Mary Lisle
There are conflicts on this profile Gilbert fitz Reinfrid, Lord of Kendal as the result of a recent merge.
While the 2 versions of the father Roger could be merged together it is unclear to me if this is the best course of action as the 2 versions have different parents.
Maybe the merge was incorrect (not done by me) but I am flagging it for someone more knowledgeable to investigate.
Judging by the related dates, this profile appears to be in the wrong place in the tree:
Someone may submit to the urge to merge it into Sancha Vasques Sarraza as suggested by Geni, but I think that would be a mistake?
Dimitri Vulis -- the medievalists are hanging out here; someone who can work in the piece of the tree you are linking to may come along, but this thread focuses on profiles of people born before 1600.
Couple of issues:
1. Reynold II de Pekham, MP has two mothers.
2. Dorothy Austin (old) vs Dorothy Peckham (added Aug. 24) The new profile has a son who is not on Geni. The manual additions continue forwards to Mary Ware The tree then becomes an import.
What are you thoughts on how best to handle this?
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Wypeham-1
Alice de Wypeham is bogus and so is the name James Reynolds Peckham.
They've been detached at Wikitree but retained as fakes.
But on Geni, we have children attached I have not so far found sourcing for, so I do not know if we should merge "James Reynold" into James or Reynold or separate them.
I'll look for who the real parents were of Lora Lovelace (as in the poet's family)
(answering myself). I renamed "James Reynold Peckham" and his wife (not Alice de Wypeham) as per source document from

Thanks for your attention.
Hi - I hope you can see this. Someone has been importing tons of medieval trees. https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000002188045959&src=...
