Found in my merge center today: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000189873278906&src=profile&cmp=btn (William Shepherd (old)) A manually added stick-and-spouse tree.

Cut point is John Wesley Davis (old) vs John Wesley Davis (new) I did not trace it past one more generation.

Marsha Gail Veazey - There are some curates of yours in this. Closest to now - Moses Stanberry There are other duplicates in this tree.

I see Constance Mathilde FitzRoy, Viscountess de Maine, listed as my 24th Great-Grandmother.

She is shown as daughter of Henry I "Beauclerc", King of England, and Matilda of Scotland, and

granddaughter of William FitzRobert, Duke of Normandy, King of England William the Conquerer, and Matilda of Flanders.

Should her name be FitzRobert rather than FitzRoy?

She is also shown as Empress Matilda, wife of Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor and Geoffroy V, Count of Anjou, Maine and Mortain.

Thank you Erica. I am fairly new to Geni, and still learning how to navigate.

https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000040008872120&src=profile&cmp=btn (Thomas Spufford) The other side manually added Sept. 4. The stick-and-spouse "no dates" tree extends down to the user.

Thomas Spufford tree dealt with.

Hi all,

Dealt with.

It seems as though the wrong parents are attributed to this profile Mendo Soares da Maia

If Mendo Soares Da Maia was born in 1045 and died in 1065 then he cannot be the son of:
Soeiro Mendes da Maia, o Bom (b1060)
and Gontrode Moniz (b1055)

How do you know the dates are correct, Craig?

Craig Andrew Miles

I used Portuguese Wikipedia to look up and add brief English translations double check the dates.

Mendo Soares da Maia reads as:

https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soeiro_Mendes_da_Maia

Mendo Soares da Maia ( fl. 1045-1065), who is not mentioned in the lineage books, [ 14 ] father of another Soeiro Mendes, of Gonçalo Mendes da Maia, the "Lidador", Paio Mendes da Maia, archbishop of Braga, Goina and Elvira. [ 16 ]

"fl." stands for 'flourished', meaning he is known to be living during those years. It's "not" birth and death dates.

He is defined as the father of Gonçalo Mendes da Maia II, O Lidador at Gonçalo Mendes da Maia II, O Lidador

Erica, that is an interesting translated biography I assume within the family of Soares. The battle of Tours won by the French in 732ad stopping the Muslim advance into France then was well before the battles against the Portuguese detailed in the biography given above. I have corresponded with the current family of Soares and have worked with them on their lines. Their lines go back to the royal family of Portugal and also have links back to ancestors of Uchtred the Bold of Northumberland.

Yes, this seemed an important family. Glad to “meet” them.

Are they the same?:

Consul (131) - Sergius Octavius Laenas Pontianus has two sets of parents that need to be merged.

This popped up in my merge center - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000209004644889&src=profile&cmp=btn (Richard Baldwin, III)
Please note that one piece of the tree match - Richard Baldwin, III - has already been isolated and is waiting for deletion.
The last piece of the tree match - Richard Baldwin, III - is the top of a stick-and-spouse tree has a daughter (Elizabeth Woodruff) that matches to Hannah Woodruff This short tree ends here with the addition of the spouse for the daughter.

Private I think your research may be incorrect

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duarte,_Duke_of_Guimar%C3%A3es_(1541%E2%80%931576) the photo you attached is www.geni.com/media/proxy?media_id=6000000209143357845&size=large

But you attached it to a person who lived from 1529-1543

I am following the absorbion of Al-Andalusia "De lief is a scandinavian form of the Jewish name Willats or Willatz. with unproven connection to the major philosopher MaimonMimodanides. , they appeared in England around !611. Pether or pfeffer may be another form: Brookes and Walsingham appeared as a group. I understand the king of Portugal was not enthusiastic to punish Jews. THe Turkish fleet arrived and took many Jews and Arabs to the Balkans and Anotolia. .

I have a link with Hisham II Sultan and myself.

Walsingham was a Diplomat and Queen Elizabth I spymaster
