New Sport 😳 Medieval MMA

Looks fun!

More matches from the same user as before: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000053561877949&src=profile&cmp=btn (John Lutteridge)
The next generation has a daughter, Eliza Evering who is not creating a tree match.

Import :

Martha Torsteinsdatter Venjum

here are the dublicates:

https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000017904453628?return=match...

There are more dublicates because of the import.

Hi, under 1000 DE-FR medieval (C)s
following a user who knew all the birth surnames under 1000..
and just added them like rain..
..as if it were an automatic algorithm to suggest them to him exactly as it is done with today's trees..

while I wait to see if he answers me privately very soft for the names..
well I looked at this merge:

>.< https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=86166293700

merged NN wife (+/- 50 years) & now wife of same name1 + name2 >.<
What do you say I'll take a guess? >.<

yes confirmed, new, very new, but at least kind user who in a very few lines has already grasped the thing himself asking to fix it (TNX @Erica for the UNDO already completed:)
[I had already removed the surnames instead.. for damn damned perspicacity >.<]

Just today profiles have been added that create duplicates on 1200's king of Sicily and other spanish nobility. here are two examples:

https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000006727876701&src=...

https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000026423611089&src=...

Bernard

Today's Merge center has:
https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000009679738759&src=profile&cmp=btn (Hugo Page)
This match then goes to https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000009679738759&src=profile&cmp=btn (Hugo Page) and then to Richard Page (old) vs Richard Page (new). There are 2000+ descendants from here. The tree matches go down to nearly the present time.
The same user also did this one - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000003853864167&src=profile&cmp=btn (Thomas Redding)

a tree with 30 ancestors are all doubles

Gary Allen Singleton please don't merge in ' purely new duplicates '. The point of the project is specifically not to do that because of the exponentially increasing knock-on merge work it creates as it ripples through the tree. We've spent years discouraging the creation of new duplicates on the medieval tree because of this. This user could simply request management to manage on these profiles, instead of creating empty new ones, and if they're part of his own ascent line, he would have had to have already ignored many alerts from Geni way lower down in his tree to start merging in.

Someone has added a Washington as the husband of Margaret de Huntingdon and he should not be there:
Margaret of Huntingdon, Duchess of Brittany

Sir Robert William Ward and his wife are dublicates of MP Robert Ward, of Kirby Bedon

Robert Ward of Kirby Bedon (shown as born 1500 - ) had no son Simeon Ward (shown as born 1501 - )

see also here https://www.stirnet.com/genie/data/british/ww/ward01.php and https://www.stirnet.com/genie/data/british/cc4aq/capell01.php

Private User — thanks! fixed.

Well then Erica, the information was not on the profile before you updated it today and therefore the text lead people to believe there was only two husbands. As I had just come from a long trip I just hapened to notice the discrepancy when checking a path to one of my matches' ancestor. Apparently problem fixed now by you, so thanks.

I see two copies of the Darshan, with numerous ancestors:

https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000004588296865?to=600000020...
https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000004588296865?to=600000020...

Could someone please either merge or isolate.

Thanks!!

Dimitri: Darshan duplicates isolated.

Thanks Dan Cornett!

These profiles appear to be duplicates but have different parents:

Elizabeth Cottier
Elizabeth Radcliffe

From "ATTENTION: Curators..." (https://www.geni.com/discussions/272643?msg=1724296) Lillian Elizabeth Morgan, T167068 is reporting that Adolf I of Holstein has a problem. "This profile has a mother attached who is 200 years younger than him. I contacted the managers and was told to contact you. Can you help? He is my umpteenth great grandfather."

Emily Kent Marget you are a curator and you can just release her as a mother to him, replace her with a N.N. profile, what's the problem? She shall not be deleted, just be separetad from her not husband!

Private User - Even though I am a curator, I do not, and will not, make ANY changes to profiles for people born before 1600. Certainly not for someone born before 1100.
Medieval Europe is not a time period that I know at all. I would rather have someone who knows the history of this era make the changes.
You will notice that I am not the only curator who will not make adjustments to profiles from this time period.
