I found in Geni search: Rodrigo Rodríguez de Sanabria

The image file expands to

https://media.geni.com/p14/02/86/05/fb/5344486751f50161/00000001_2__original.jpg?hash=d2050279161fffeeecf152295c7635b6bcad4c201218b61324aa5bd8291c55a0.1768895999

It's lovely, but needs context and study.

When I use medieval English pedigrees (which can contain errors), I try to separate into smaller family groups, to make it clearer who is who, when and where. I can give you examples.

An excellent start, though. Can you add attributions to the image? i use the "Add comment" field so a link is "live."

TNX @ Erica,
now Geni gives he the possibility to transform it into a document,
so he can insert date, origin, type, description...

Of course if it comes from the WEB it would be better to create it directly from there so that Geni gives we the possibility to go to the original source,
even if simply linking to the WEB page is easier and quicker...

this is simply uploading old drawings on the profile picture..
..sorry but I have already seen and struggled with a yellow squared sheet as a source for Sicily in 1200 T.T

well of course but this would require a certain skill in writing >.<

There are 3 inconsistencies in this profile: Gyles Longe, of London

I hesitate to make any changes and would appreciate someone with more knowledge in this area dealing with these. Thank you in advance.

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Holiday.
Pat

Erica Howton, Thank you so much.

and.. we start again..

the TAB changes on:
comendador Pedro de Ledesma
It's something that should make you all think.
but not to me, it doesn't even make me laugh anymore.
but it's not even the first time, it's not something new, obviously it has already happened to me around space time, now just so much sadness, conscious sadness of the variegated variety.

Please complete the merges/extra parents, etc, on this curated profile:
Gentleman Thomas Prater

From my merge center, December 20, 2024:
oldest https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000007606059090&src=profile&cmp=btn (William Wilkinson)
First cutpoint: https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000006719738249&src=profile&cmp=btn (Rebecca Dent (MP) vs Rebecca Dent)
Nearest to present cutpoint: William Mitchel Sanders (old) vs William Mitchel Sanders (new). The new profile adds a wife and child. The new tree continues to the user and then two additional generations.

Two nearly duplicate Colonial American profiles, both of which are are connected to the same parents:
John Putnam
John Putnam

Private User - Resolved the John Putnams. There had been a wife Hannah smerge.

From my merge center, Dec. 27th - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000002176661683&src=profile&cmp=btn (John of Luxembourg, king of Bohemia)
The other side looks very odd. It's been hanging around since 2010 and the manager has not been active for a decade.

From my merge center Jan. 1, 2025 - https://www.geni.com/search/matches?id=6000000007060178059&src=profile&cmp=btn (Lawrence Washington, 1st of Sulgrave)
The cutpoint is Thomas Washington vs Thomas Washington The new tree adds a son who was not on Geni previously.
The user has been sent my usual message about duplicates.

Emily Kent Marget - dup Washingtons (and more) isolated. The added son was valid.

Erica Howton - Thanks.

I am seeing merges (!!!) high in the tree. Please see Isabel Middlemore for example.

John Spencer, Sr., of Edworth has two fathers noted and a tree match. This one is MPd.

John Spencer

Not a medieval but hoping one of the Guru's can take a look at this for me.

Wendelin Ulm and Jean Wendelin ULM appear to be the same person

They go back to 1643 France - with these 2 that appear to be the same (with slight variations)
Jean Jacques Ulm and Jean Jacques Joannes Jacobus /ULM

The new tree brings in many new profiles BUT I don't know the region / time period to know if the variations are a problem.

The new tree is a gedcom so I am not sure if it will continue and add pre 1600 profiles once merged.

The new GEDCOM and the old tree stop at the same tops (Jean Jacques Ulm & his wife). The existing tree is a single manager, inactive, from a Texas family, and is quite skimpy, but does match with new tree. I would expect the new manager to resolve the matching profiles in favor of the existing profiles and place any name variations in the AKA field. But there's only a few for her tree. There might be more matches in the French Canadian portion down tree.
