Who were more likely cousins and we'll probably never know the answer.

I found a suggestion in a MyHeritage tree

James Burton "John" Harp

https://books.google.com/books?id=reQZDgAAQBAJ&lpg=PA69&ots... page 145 of The Outlaws of Cave-in-Rock By Otto A. Rothert

Says that TS Smith in 1855, who interviewed eyewitnesses, asserted that Micajah was born William, son of John Harp, and his cousin Wiley was Joshua, son of John's brother Wiliiam.

I saw a few accounts of them actually being cousins but you are right. Probably will not know for sure.

Trying to pick through the notes in this file, it's hard to follow

I agree. Read it once before coffee. I will give it a go again. Seems like they are trying to link the Harp/Earp connection similar names to the profiles I sent you guys on the Joseph Earp and William Harp.

We might as well try & find Wyatt Earp, rumored to be a name change from Harpe.

We should look for DNA projects also

I was wondering if he was somehow related?
Oh Goody, he is my 6th cousin 4xs removed

Wyatt Earp

Oh this guy is from Virginia

William Edward Earp

Helps to work with the Master Profile instead of a dup. :)

Wyatt Earp

ah yes! How can we rein in duplicates? I guess that is another project for admins. :)

Projects like this are a good way to find them and get trees connected. I’m pleased.

This link looks decent

Can we check the Geni tree against it?
