"Washington ancestry" seems to be a highly controversial subject, due to various charlatans and fakers hoaxing up fake trees.

In all probability Washington Irving had the right idea, though he couldn't connect all the dots. And if MedLands is right about the Durham line possibly being connected to the Competitors for the Crown of Scotland - well, veeeery in-teresting....
