1) ERROR IN LINE. THIS MAN WAS BORN 12-4-1745. WIFE UNKNOWN.

Lots of merging later and still more to go I run into the curated profile with inactive curator:
Zachariah Prather

And yet again too many parents.
Third cousin dad's side and hits mom's Brewer by marriage
I'll stop posting here--- sorry to clog it up--- but am still working on them and grateful for any help.
Not where I thought I was headed when I added my DNA match who hits me on both sides. Thank you again

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 From the little bit of research that I have done on the Prather's It looks like the profiles do not match the data found in the census.
How important are they to you?
Would you like me to create a name project, to collect all the early census info to see what makes seance. I haven't found Leonard in the early census yet!

Linda Zimmerman I would love that, actually.
I have brick walls that are connected to PRATHER.
They were slaveholders.
Thank you so much for your help
I had NOT seen the "Cheraw" connection until today and as always am "late to the party".

Oops--- I just did a look up in my AncestryDNA private tree--- the slaveholders were Rather, not Prather.
I am not aware of Prather as slaveholders.
The attached Y DNA for these profiles is, however, E

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 For right now I'm finished with it, unless you can identify other stat4ed that need to be added.

I have also included the wills that I have access to , please look and see what wlse needs to be added.

William Harrington

MP locked to two fathers with the same name, but not the same.

Erica Howton this is the one I was referring to that was missed.

Richard Waterman, II

This merge is suspect - https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=82385640670

Private User - Before I reverse the merge, is there support for which Richard Elizabeth Corpe married?

Private User

The two fathers of William Harrington were, in fact, the same. Merged after updating source citations and adding profile biography.

Was this a bad merge?

She comes to my work center to resolve the data conflicts and it doesn't match her About.
TIA

Ok guys, I DUG in and this is what I have discovered for the Prather and it comes from DAR

=JOHN SMITH PRATHER=
(not Zachariah Prather)
Errors in the line of a submitted genealogy at DAR led to confusion as to the parents of Leonard Deakins Prather who married Frances Williamson. The line for Ancestor #: A092444 is disallowed. The correct line is PRATHER, JOHN Ancestor #: A092416

re PRATHER
I am asking for them to be MP'd-- see https://www.geni.com/discussions/272715?msg=1736459

Pam Wilson (on hiatus) added
Daniel Hartley, Jr
in 2016
I have requested and gotten three bad merges undone but he is now left Geni married to himself and I suspect that once I disconnect, I will not be able to work on him.
Daniel Hartley, Sr
Gender: Male
Birth: 1743
of, Maryland, United States
Death: 1850 (106-107)
Crawford County, Gabon
Place of Burial: Crawford County, Georgia, United States
Immediate Family:
Son of James Hartley and Margaret Miles
Husband of Eleanor Hartley (Brown); Mary Eleanor Brown and Daniel Hartley, Jr.
Father of Lewis Hartley; Patience Jones (Hartley); Lewis L Hartley; Michael L Hartley; Priscilla Lovelace (Hartley); Benjamin Hartley and Daniel Hartley, 3rd« less
Brother of Daniel Hartley

wife Mary Eleanor Hartley is correct.
Here are the other two "spouses":
Mary Eleanor Hartley
Daniel Hartley, Jr

A merge today on Johann Michael Buehler, Sr. have left multiple duplicate children and many generations duplicated.

The first child was born 1700, last child 1750 - same mother - seems rather unlikely

Johann born Switzerland died Pennsylvania
His children born Germany then Virginia then Switzerland then Virginia then Switzerland then France - seems rather unlikely

This profile for James Clelland (McClelland) has ended up with 2 wives, both named Anne Pierpoint; complete with different sets of families.

I arrived at this crossroads by following the information furnished by wikitree, stating that Ann/Anne Pierpoint's parents were Larkin Pierpoint & Sarah Simmons. (both origins are on the about section of the profiles).

Ann #2 (with the photo) states she was a daughter of a Quaker family: John Pierpoint & Anne Gassaway.

I am in desperate need of another pair of non-bleary eyes to help discern which Ann/Anne is correct and/or if in fact they are 2 separate ladies + separate families???

I apologize in advance for my confusion & frustration; however, it cannot be left as is. Until then, I cannot leave this tree without notifying a Curator.

Thanks in advance for your care & concern...

Carolyn

James Clelland, Sr.

Please connect Jane Kincaid as the SISTER of Alexander Kincaid, Jr., Esq. . (Their parents are Alexander Kincaid, Esq., Senior.. and Unknown but their profiles haven't been created yet).

Additionally, Alexander Kincaid, Jr., Esq. is supposed to be the husband (not son) of his first wife, Ann Kincaid , and the father of all of Ann's children.

I accidentally isolated Jane Kincaid who had been incorrectly placed as Alexander's daughter with his first wife, Ann McMorries (apparently they do have a daughter Jane, but there's a separate profile for her already existing).

Alexander Kincaid, Jr., Esq. is also supposed to be the husband of Jane Kincaid his second wife (her 3rd husband), with whom he had no children. Currently he and Jane (Montgomery) Kincaid are still correctly connected.

The DAR cemetery record for Miss Jane Kincaid has numerical errors affecting her perceived age, etc. But the Findagrave profile for her has a good photograph of her original gravestone.

Thank you, and Happy Holidays everyone.

I've done what I can to clean up Johann Michael Buehler, Sr. but this takes more than I can devote to this unfamiliar to me family. Hopefully someone who knows the time and place better can pick up any slack.

Thank you so much, Erica Howton

I think there's room for argument on the parentage of Ann Clelland so I've set it up as follows:

Ann Pierpont [1][2] was born c1754,[3] the daughter of John and Ann Galloway Pierpont and a 1st cousin, twice removed of Francis Harrison Pierpont, popularly known as the "Father of West Virginia." Alternately, she was the daughter of Larkin Pierpoint & Sarah Pierpoint

Hopefully eventually they'll be more evidence, one way or another.

Resolved the Alexander Kincaid, Jr., Esq. tree, please check.

What are we supposed to see about Old Sam Lee?

(Lost)

Ooooops!
Sorry, Erica Howton
I started some Discussions and cross posted but forgot the link here.
Looks like folks have conflated two men named Sam Lee and their wives both named Sarah and then given them each other's children as well as another couple of wives

I know there are some LEE experts here on Geni and maybe "we" can get these correct?

Lucy Ann Lee
Sarah Shay Lee
Sarah Lee
Martha "Patsy" Lee
Apparently all married men named Sam Lee
I see at least two men:
Samuel Jefferson Lee, I
Samuel Lee, Sr.

Oh my Goodness, thanks Erica for your weigh-in on the case of the 2 ANN/Anne Pierpoints. Talk about a wonderful holiday gift, right???

I'll keep an eye on this family...just to see what information is brought forward. I am suspicious as to the outcome & truth of this family and their connections, if any.

Happy Holidays to all of our fellow 'worker-bees' out there.

Erica Howton and @CarolynHolmes

From Familysearch it shows Grandparents to Henry Pierpoint but not on here. It shows one Ann as 2 cousin, 11 times removed and 1st cousins,9 times removed to other. Erica MP up to Ann Thompson on this line. I just happened to recall I was working on these lines a few months back in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The Henry below has two Elizabeth's and that's the line on Familysearch to me, but Richard shows two sets of parents. Here is the family Genealogy book below.

Henry ‘the Quaker’ Pierpoint

I found this person on FamilySearch:

Henry Francis Pierpoint

Thank you, Annber, very helpful.

Not Colonial American, but an important and under-documented era in American history is the Reconstruction period. I've started a project for Geni to help capture, through our family tree work, people impacted by violence during this time, mostly in the US south:

Documenting Reconstruction Violence

I personally have a relative who got caught up in the lawlessness and hatred of that time, the only? white? man lynched in Kentucky.

Lynchings in Kentucky
