Hey US Guru's - anyone want to have a bit of a research on Lucy A Baughn ?

She was born 1838 New York died 1921 Kansas

Different sites have different maiden names for her - CLARK, RAYNOR, HENDRICK or LOGAN

I have added some links to her about page.

I am thinking that her Birth Surname should be unknown?? with the 4 different ones put in the AKA field ?

Erica Howton you've previously done some work near here back in 2022.

Eula Doris Bensch has 2 sets of parents - none of which have the same name as her birth surname

Private has parents with different name
Lewis Floyd Kao has parents with different - name - offhand I think the birthplace has been put in the surname field

I can't do anything about the private profiles (Hazel & other dups) but sorted out the rest. Marriage license for Clarence Bensch & Eula Kao, Marriage Sep 23 1938 at Glasgow, Valley, Montana. < MyHeritage >.

Thanks Erica - sorry about all the issues.

I am working my way thru 100K inherited colonial American profiles. Unfortunately no sources have been attached for most of them.

Betsey Beers has 2 husbands

I found some internet pages that might help (they contain some sources)

James Bennett, Sr. is most likely a few people confused.

4 wives

Benedict Swingate Calvert had a parent change, and dupes are purposely being added in the tree.

Mother?:
David Pridgen

These 2 grandsons of Noah Rogers have the same birth and death details

Joseph Rogers son of John ROGERS and Lydia FRISBIE
Joseph Rogers son of Ens Josiah ROGERS and Lydia GOODSELL

Hello!

Everything I can find, save a few trees and a brief mention far down the WikiTree profile, which seems to be from a memorial, indicate he was born in Boston. Both of his parents were born in Massachusetts, so this also bolsters the likelihood, IMO he was born in Massachusetts, and not in England.

The profile field is locked, so I cannot update.

Thank you!

Dr. William Dyer

Private User - We will gladly change a date if we are provided with a verifiable source for the change.
Boston has compiled records of birth going back to the 1650s and possibly earlier. Some of these may be attached on Family Search to profiles.

Emily,

I was not posting about his date of birth, although there is some discussion online concerning the year. Looking more closely, if Anne was bon circa November of 1643, is Geni really suggesting she gave birth to William in March of 1653? Why such a gap between the other siblings who were born in Rhode Island in the mid/late1660s and 1670s?

The transcript I have (attached now) gives the year of William Dyer's birth as 1664. I believe his parents were married in Rhode Island in 1663 so a March 1664 birth seems a bit more respectable as well given the era.

I'm not sure what logic would have Samuel and Anne married in 1663 in Rhode Island and William born in England? (Either 10 years prior, or basically the same time, both seem really odd?)

If you are familiar with their families, it is also really difficult to imagine this young couple having any desire to travel to England.

Samuel Dyer was born in Rhode Island. Anne Vernon was born in Massachusetts. What is the logic involved in having William Dyer born in Surrey, England?

That is what I was trying to understand. There was no proof of a birth for William Dyer in England attached to his profile. The bio has all sorts of things mentioned, so it would be nice to have another look/some clarity.

Private User - I looked through the revisions for Dr. William Dyer I found a merge from 2021 - https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=80356913740 - that has the info correctly.
Now, I will correct him.

If you don't have permissions, you should get a message saying "your request has been sent to managers" or something like that. Are you following all the steps at the FAQ?

Thank you Emily.

The bio could still benefit from clean up. The lead in says he was born in England. I f the Findagrave link is contributing, I can put in an edit request for the bio there as well. (They have changed the birthplace, but not the bio.)

Also his mother's profile could benefit from fresh eyes as well. Comments have been made--maybe in merges as you noted for William-- such as not understanding that November was previously considered the 9th month. I also attached a transcription for Anne's birth.

Since we have Dyer and Hutchinson lines converging here, it is really interesting--I think so, at least! And Mary Dyer was William's grandmother.

This is the kind of stuff in Anne's bio I am referring to:

"Birth
: She was born 18 Nov 1643 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, and christened 9 Nov 1643 at the First Church Boston, Mass"

Or

Notes
Birth of Anne Hutchinson is listed as September 18th, 1643, according to Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988 for Anne Hutchinson. It is transcribed as: born 18th - 9th month.

When I click the data to keep, I get a message that changes have been saved/accepted but the conflicts have not been dropping off the list like they usually did in the past.

If I don't have permission, for whatever reason, I get a message that a request has been forwarded to the profile manager for review. I usually wait a week for a response and then send a direct message to profile manager for resolution of data conflict. Sometimes that can take a while depending on whether or not manager is on every day or only once in a while.

Deborah Ann Tower that sounds like a bug or some issue with your login - I suggest raising a support call so Geni can investigate.

For me they are working / saving so I can't raise a support call.
