Oh geez the autocorrect lol
Profile for JINCY, not lynch
But now I am hungry so bye!

I give up

Thank you for updating. There are a few "naming" patterns in those lines which I am tracking since I find them interesting(my name even has a tie in to one, just a minor spelling change.Anyone interested in an easier to spot pattern can see my ggf Reuben Lombard Curran on this path) Most importantly the middle names make tree building a *bit* more sane for me while adding people since so many close cousins married other close cousins.

Karrie - I've been burned by so many bogus middle names it's not funny. So don't hesitate to ask for curator notes, and relationship locks; or use "add a field" to make a "dynastic" note or a "name pattern" note.

Cynthia - I finished the cleanup of Oldham Hightower (and some more Hightowers). Here's a resource you may enjoy:

https://studylib.net/doc/6725862/hightower-history-news Page 38.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - re: Cherokee lines for Jincy Hightower. As you know, that would be bogus, because it's the wrong time & place. Which doesn't rule out other tribes in other times & places.

Merge on Maj. Robert Fielding Cooke has given him multiple parents and 27 children

Erica Howton I suggest a fix for the merge issue on Thomas Delano, Sr.

I believe the Deacon Delano profile should only have Capt. Jonathan Delano as his father (Capt. Jonathan Delano II). It looks like a bad merge sometime. The alternate father is not accurate (Jonathan Delano)

Basically, I'm checking on the proper procedure for suggesting merges and updates to a Master Profile with locked fields. Thanks in advance for your reply, and I appreciate all the work from everyone on this thread to keep the Colonial profiles accurate..

Private User - thank you, that was very helpful. Detached the wrong father / husband.

The way you posted this was perfect. I would caveat that if the genealogy is disputed, confused, or unknown, a separate discussion from profile is probably more useful, as it can get more complicated and need more messages.

Erica Howton Thanks for the assist!

Nor is he the man in the link to Wikitree:

Maybe folks are already aware - or maybe of no interest - and
Apologies for what is probably an off-topic post but I thought it might be of interest to those interested in Colonial America.

'America's First Veterans': Historians Need Your Help Identifying the Remains of Revolutionary War Troops

"Forensics labs need Americans with 18th-century ancestral ties to the states of Maryland, Delaware or North Carolina to come forward for genetic testing. If successful, it will be the oldest unknown subject identification ever made in the United States."

Private User - Thanks.
I had no idea this existed. (Maryland native with serious roots in Colonial Maryland, Virginia, New York and Massachusetts.)

Hi - I have two colonial Joseph Scotts with exactly the same dates who have wildly different lives and families. See:

https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000001212702044?return=match...

Obviously these should be mastered and one of them should have the dates corrected, but I don't know which.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 -

John Andrew Jasper, Sr. does match the person described at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jasper-87.

He called himself "John Jasper of Union County in South Carolina" in his 1799 will, which names his children.

It all matches out.

However, parents are wrong. The John Jesper who was the son of Thomas Jesper & Sarah Taylor was born bef 1735 in North Farnham Parish & died there in 1764.

Detaching John Jasper, Sr. from parents.

Thank you, Erica Howton

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - I've now corrected name and parents of John Jasper Sr.'s wife Mary Jasper and set up the actual son of Thomas Jesper, of North Farnham Parish & Sarah Jesper John Jesper who married Mary Lisle.

Oliver Wolcott, signer of the "Declaration of Independence"

His death date is locked with 12/1/1797, but his burial date is locked with 1727.

Private User - Thanks for the catch. Fixed.

I don't know if this merge is right: https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=86832522080

Richard and his duplicate wives "Anna" now have two sons (Robert) with same dates but different wives:

Robert Day, Sr
Robert Day of Ipswich

It is mathematically possible that son Robert had two wives, but I don't know enough about it to make that call. He had a son, Robert, Jr. by the second wife (if true); however that son was born before the death of his first wife (if her dates are correct).

And for these reasons I hesitate to complete the merge on Richard's duplicate wives:

https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000006444341293?to=600000019...

I'm now more inclined to think that the merge on Richard's profile (first link above) should be reversed.

Would someone be kind enough to resolve the data conflicts on the following profiles? Have attempted contact with profile managers to no avail to date.

Deborah Ann Tower curators cannot resolve tree conflicts where the profiles are private. You will need to wait for the profile manager to approve the merges you requested.

Private User - I've looked through Ipswich VR, no mention of Robert Day.

He and his family may have been in that part of Ipswich known as Chebacco. Chebacco eventually (1819) became the town of Essex. The records of Chebacco are separate from those of Ipswich.

I have not taken the time to look through the internet for more verified info about him.

So I would put it aside for the moment.
