Lydia Longley, aka Sister Madeleine, the first American Nun
Dea. John "the Redeemed Captive" Longley
Like many of the time, there is a question about who is the mother? But I think they are sorted appropriately based on as much as I could find. If I need to do more, I am happy to do so. Susanne
May someone MP this profile:
Maniya Barredo, Filipina prima ballerina Maniya Barredo

Thank you!
Lt. Jacob Bledsoe, Sr. Needs to have his dozen children listed out in his “about” before I’ll curate.
You have a bio maker In Smart Copy; or you can copy / Paste from a family tree, etc. But it’s necessary in this case. Advise when done.
Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087, go to the profile and edit the "About Me" - you should see an option appear in the top right of the box "Add biography".
Go to the top of the "About Me" and then click "Add biography" and it should add a short biography to the about me. It will possibly need a little formatting.
This is using SmartCopy, it is copying the children entered in Geni.
Personally I prefer copying & pasting an external source “unless” I’ve checked each of the children and am satisfied they are good to go. If that’s the case, SmartCopy bio maker is the absolutely best way to preserve a tree, as it’s a snapshot of geni on that date, and allows us to lock relationships as parents of these children with the most confidence.
I probably understand Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 's issues with some profiles. I want to give a shout out to Pam Wilson (on hiatus) who has been helping collaborator Zach Boggess and me sort out some profiles on my aunt by marriage's lines there were probably MPd too early as they didn't have much info on them at all. I am trying to go back and at least add some details, sources as I know the family well. Pam has been great in try to help get these profiles in shape even when fields were "weirdly locked."
We have great curators on Geni and sometimes old profiles seem abandoned and I have learned to check for that in the "Actions" tab. Pam, Erica Howton, Marsha Gail Kamish, and Private User have been extremely helpful to me for getting the MPd profiles or profiles that need to be MPd with a bit of work sorted. Jim Wile and Dan Cornett are not afraid to tackle my Finnish family and their names. I have learned so much from all the curators every time I interact.
But, I do get the issues with trying to decide when a profile is ready to MP. It doesn't seem to be so simple when we see so many that need work. I wonder sometimes if we find profiles that are MPd and need work, if we should have a discussion thread (I guess that would have to be it) to deposit them to hope someone will take the them on. Just a thought as I head back to grade end of summer term papers!
I should probably give a bit of geni history of the Master Profile and this discussion.
The first curator right given was the ability to designate profiles as a single entity, the “master” profile which is the only historic profile. This served as a merge master, visually distinguished, coming up first in search, and most importantly - cannot be merged with another profile.
It was “not” and was never meant to be a “final - complete” designation. We had hoped for additional markers at some point but other development priorities... So, we decided to challenge the community with this particular discussion, “My profile is good enough to be a Master Profile!”
Our expectation is that profiles presented here are complete, clean tree, and sourced. Work to be proud of.
There will be many thousands of MPs that are Disambiguation MPs, or Celebrity MPs, or historic MPs, or “they have 5,000 descendant” MPs. No doubt many of those profiles & trees need enhancement, so jump in.
Erica Howton, thanks. I think a good many have been working on them and we appreciate all of you who help make the updates possible. Good to have this thread to work through what we find. I have found some unmastered off-shoots of the MPd (that lacked some things) - usually wives or children and it gives a good chance to beef up those mastered and get the unmastered verified and mastered. I am not knowledgeable enough to delve much into ancient lines (though I look a lot at them), but try to fill out the ones within the last few centuries and make connections where possible. I am grateful to those who have that ancient knowledge. :-)
