I was tracing a cousin line that includes these connections and I saw two daughters named Margaret - one on my side and one on the side of the path I'm tracing, but when I see same-name siblings I always questions the accuracy. So I Googled and there is no daughter named Margaret who married a Steele listed on the father's Wikipedia page. His children are listed as:
He was the son of Alexander Graham, 2nd Earl of Menteith (c. 1475 – c. 1537), and Margaret Buchanan. He was the great-grandson of Malise Graham, 1st Earl of Menteith (1406–1490). In 1521 he married Margaret Moubray, daughter of John Moubray of Barnbougle (she had previously been married to John Cornwall before his death in 1513), and they had five sons and two daughters, including:[1]
Lady Margaret Graham, who married Archibald Campbell, 4th Earl of Argyll[2]
John Graham, who succeeded his father as Earl of Menteith
Lady Christian Graham, who married William Livingstone of Kilsyth, their eldest son was William Livingstone of Kilsyth
While all the five sons aren't named in that listing, both of his two daughters are listed - Margaret who married Archibald Campbell and Christian who married William Livingstone.
Is there any documentation for another daughter named Margaret who married Richard Steel I? If not, she seems to be connected to the wrong family.
Thanks in advance for any assistance in confirming or correcting the connections for Margaret (Graham) Steele.
