ABRAHAM WORKMAN, born about 1779 in Maryland or New Jersey; died 1832 in Bath Co., Kentucky; married about 1804 in New Jersey to MRS. HANNAH BURGESS (born about 1781;
died 1819 in Bourbon Co., Ky.) Abraham was always a poor man "but honest and kind. Though given somewhat to drink he did not carry it to excess as many did in that day." (See Writings of Jacob L. Workman284.)
Abraham seems to have come to Kentucky about 1812 at the same time as his father did. He lived in Bourbon County for some time but soon after his second marriage he moved to Bath Co., Ky., where he lived near George Workman3. It was there that he died. Several children were born to, Abraham and Hannah, but only the names of two of them are known:
- 116. JAMES WORKMAN born 17 Dec. 1806 in Allegany Co., Maryland; died about 1831 in Christian Co., Illinois.
- 117. MICHAEL WORKMAN born about 1816; died about 1891 near Petra, Bracken Co., Kentucky.
