About Alexandra Ivanova Markievicz
"He [Stasko] married a Russian woman, Alexandra Ivanova Zimina, on 24 July 1918 in the Greek Catholic church in the town of Mezen... Her father was manager of a timber mill in the town... The bride's religion would suggest her family originated in Western Ukraine, the home of Greek Catholic Church." Stasko wrote in 1940: "I have a wife in Russia, from whom I am separated 20 years by War and Revolution, having married as a mere boy during or rather, at the end of the last War. When the Bolsheviks took me prisoner - we were seperated, and later she did not join me in Poland" - Patrick Quigley, 'The Polish Irishman' (Dublin: Liffey P., 2012).
