Ann Cotton was born in 1628 in Conington, Huntingdonshire, England. Her parents were Sir Thomas Cotton, MP, 2nd Baronet of Conington and Margaret Cotton.

Ann married Sir Thomas Gage, 3rd Baronet. Together they had the following children:
Margaret Stapleton.

She died in 1660 in Rome, Roma, Lazio, Italy.


Ann Cotton (Howard's) father, [Sir Thomas Cotton, MP, 2nd Baronet of Conington Sir Thomas Cotton, MP, 2nd Baronet of Conington married, Margaret Howard, daughter of Lord William Howard, of Naworth Castle, Cumberland, by whom he had one son, Sir John Cotton, 3rd Baronet, of Connington and one daughter, Lady Ann Cotton Gage, b 1621, married Sir Thomas Gage 3rd Baronet. Margaret died in 1621 or 1622. Only two children were born with the first wife.
