The first records in the courthouse of White County GA regarding the demise of Benjamin Allison were dated 22 Apr 1844, where John Richardson and Robert Westmoreland were named arbitrators of the estate of Benjamin Allison and there were chosen by the heirs to be so. <p></p> <p>The heirs are listed, but it is not known if it was according to age, but probably was. The wife was listed first: Cassandra Ellison (right off we have misspelled names - she probably said her a'sas e's, and the Ellison is often interchanged with Allison. <p></p> <p>The children or their husbands were listed in this order:</p> <p>William Ellison, Hamilton Ellison, James Allison, Wm Buchanan (husband of one of the daughters), Thomas Allison, james Chambers (husband of another daughter), William Hix (another husband of another daughter), John C. Allen (husband of Dorcas Allision), and Elizabeth Allison. <p></p> <p>There is some question about the last "child." Benjamin Allison, Jr, died sometime before 4 Mar 1844 and his wife was named Elizabeth. Was the last person named as an heir really the daughter of Benjamin and Cassandra Allison? Or could she be Benjamin Jr's widow who was claiming his share for their children?
