In 1860, Eleanor was listed as Ellen Mitchell, age 79, in the home of her son A. W. Mitchell in Atlanta, Fulton Co., Ga. The fact that she moved to Atlanta before her death gave a descendant of hers claim to be a fifth generation Atlantan.... That descendant was Margaret Mitchell (Marsh) who wrote a rather famous book set in the city where five generations of her family lived....a book called "Gone With The Wind."
