Nahor, Nachor, or Naghor (Heb. נָחֹור Nāḥōr) is the son of Serug. In Genesis Chapter 11, Nahor is listed as the son of Serug.
According to some interpretations, he was born and raised in the Sumerian city-state of Ur on the Euphrates River of lower Mesopotamia, about four Millennia ago.
He is said to have lived to the age of 148 years old and had a son, Terah at the age of 29.
He was also the grandfather of Abraham, Nahor II and Haran, all descendants of Shem.

"This entry is about Avraham 's grandfather . If you meant Terah's son and Avraham's brother, see Nahor Ahi Avraham .
In the Bible , Nahor was the son of Shrog ben Rao and the father of Terah , the father of Avraham .
Nahor lived 148 years - from the year 1859 of the creation of the world (1912 BC) to the year 18866 of the creation of the world (1764 BC). His son, Terah, was born to him at the age of 29, the youngest age ever mentioned in the Bible. According to biblical evidence, he had other sons and daughters ( Book of Genesis , chapter 11 , verses 24-25 ).
His grandson, Nahor ben Terah , was named after him .
The name Nahor is known from the inscriptions in Haran and is related to the worship of the moon that was practiced there. In Assyrian documents from the 13th and 7th centuries BC, a city called Til-Nahiri or Nahuru was mentioned, which is located east of the city of Haran , west of the river Hebor . Based on these documents, researchers estimated that the name of the city is Afoni , which reflects a historical figure related to the biblical Nahor.[1]
An external name for his wife is Yashgav daughter of Yashkov, Yashkah daughter of Nissa or Yashkah daughter of Nistag. According to what is written in the book of Genesis, this is the family tree from the first Adam to Nahor, the father of Terah:
