C. Roy Hudleston in 'Cumberland Families and Heraldry' states:
John de Hudleston (d. c. 1252) .... marr. Joan, dau. and heir of Adam de Boyvill, qv, and acquired the Lordship of Millom, which passed to their son,:Sir John Hudleston (d. before 1306), a noted soldier, who fought against the Welsh and Scots, and was present at the Battle of Falkirk and at the seige of Caerlaverock. He was Governor of Galloway and Keeper of Ayr, Wigtown, Cruggleton and Botel Castels 1297. He sealed the Barons' letter to the Pope as Lord of Aneys 1301.
Sibyl Fitz Richard, also known as Sibyl de Cornwall, was the daughter of Sir Lawrence Fitz Richard, Knight (illegitimate son of Richard, Earl of Cornwall and King of the Romans (1209-1272).)
She married Sir John Hodleston Knight, son of Sir John de Hodleston Knight and Joan de Boyvill of Millom. (Sir John Hodleston Knight was born in Huddleston, West Riding, Yorkshire, England and died in Millom, Cumberland, England).

Sibyl Fitz Richard, also known as Sibyl de Cornwall, was the daughter of Sir Lawrence Fitz Richard, Knight (illegitimate son of Richard, Earl of Cornwall and King of the Romans (1209-1272).)
She married Sir John Hodleston Knight, son of Sir John de Hodleston Knight and Joan de Boyvill of Millom. (Sir John Hodleston Knight was born in Huddleston, West Riding, Yorkshire, England and died in Millom, Cumberland, England).
Sir JOHN DE HODLESTON, KNIGHT, in the year 1270 was witness to a deed in the Abbey of St. Mary in Furness. By his marriage with the Lady Joan, Sir John became lord of Anneys in Millom. In the 20th Edward I, 1292, he proved before Hugh Cressingham, justice itinerant, that he possessed JURA REGALIA within the lordship of Millom. In the 25th, 1297, he was appointed by the king warder or governor of Galloway in Scotland. In the 27th, 1299, he was summoned as baron of the realm, to do military service; in the next year, 1300, he was present at the siege of Carlaverock. In the 29th, 1301, though we have no proof that he was summoned, he attended the Parliament in Lincoln, and subscribed as a baron the celebrated letter to the Pope, by the title of lord of Anneys. He was still alive in the 4th of Edward IV, 1311. Sir John had three sons -John who died early, and Richard and Adam.

Hudleston & Boumphrey's Cumberland Families & Heraldry, p 191 refers to "Sybel (living 1343) daughter of Lawrence de Cornwall or de Kirkby, married before 1279 Sir John Hudleston, of Millom (died before 1306)...argent, two bars gules, on a canton of the last a cross moline or." Sir John is said (p 170) to be ancestor of the Hudlestons of Millom.
