Recorded in the family archives from Picton Castle. Also found as "Sir Owen Philipps, Lord Kylsant, of Pls Llanstephan" (The Francis Jones Archive, Carmarthenshire Families, Philips etc.)
In 1583, Sir Owen Phillips of Orielton is recorded as Sheriff of Pembrokeshire (courtesy Carmarthenshire FHS) The title is rendered as "Lord of Kylsant" in modern times. A Sir Owen Phillips, Lord of Kylsant, was prominent in the Royal Mail Service in the early 1900s.
