I am descended from Elizabeth 'Betsy " Lee, Daughter of Richard Lee the Founder and his wife Anne Constable...
Carol Kenner Harrington

are you aware of any siblings or other branches of the tree? I can't connect the Elizabeth Mary Lee section to any Lee's. the trail appears to be dead around the Civil War.

Hi Chris,
Richard Lee " The Founder" and his wife, Anne Constable, had 8 children... John, Richard the second, Francis, William, Hancock, Elizabeth, Anne, and Charles.
I am not familiar with an Elizabeth Mary Lee, but I'll see if I can find a trace of her somewhere... There were several male Lee children...

Hi again Chris,
I have several books on the Lee family, one of my favorites is " The Lees of Virginia"... This book states that " as far as we know William Lee never married" and that he died in 1696 at age 45 in Northumberland County, leaving his land in Virginia and Maryland to a young widow,Mary Heath...I don't recall seeing an Elizabeth Mary Lee mentioned in this book...If ever I see a connection I'll get back with you...@Lees of Virginia

Carol Kenner-Harrington The Lee's Of Virginia publishing was corrected and published by Edmund J Lee's son after his death, it this revision he corrects his assumptions that William Lee died w/o marriage or issue. The publishing of Lee's of Virginia, although very informitive at that time, is out dated in the research - as you may be aware, several missing lines and descendants have been found and corrected since. And so much more documentation has been discovered, found and published over the recent years.

The Lee family is very complicated and takes the upmost care and respect when researching this line. Many of have worked very hard to get it right and correct all of the assumptions and errors - many here on Geni have contributed also - ie, Erica Howton, Hatte Rubenstein Blejer, to name a few besides myself.

You can always visit me at my website http://leesofvirginia.org or email me at info@leesofvirginia.org to obtain more specific documentation on any Lee line.

Thank you,

Jacqueli

Chris DeNoia you may want to contact me also at the above site or email.

Hi Jacqueli,
I was just checking your website out on the Lees of Virginia - First Generation History ... The photo that you are showing for . Richard Lee1 "The Immigrant" is not him ! it's his son, Richard 2nd ... then you are showing a photo of Richard 1st and labeling IT Richard the 2nd...This also needs to be corrected...@Lees of Virginia
Respectfully,
Carol

Wow - I will have to let my website editor know that he made a mistake then, for these were what was shared to me via a well-known Lee website - the main issues are the Lineage information, Carol Kenner-Harrington, which indeed are correct and well documented.

Carol Kenner-Harrington - the photo's were easily corrected, they had been transposed, thank you for your scuntiny ... ;)

Carol Kenner-Harrington, here on my genealogy forum - I specifically addressed the William Lee question and list other documented sources that may be a revelation to you in this matter. Please contact me DIRECT on my website email info@leesofvirginia.org if you wish any further documentation, I will be more than happy to provide anyone with a search and sources for their Lee ancestors. Thank you, Jacqueli
