1. Without information I am unable to answer your question. The information seems to be lacking completely (going upwards / back in the Middle-Ages) betwen Yosef Frances and Moshe Frances Tzarfati. Or is your doubt aroused by the (as I see it) quite well contoured profiles between Moshe Frances Tzarfati and Rashi ?
What IS known / documented about the Frances' descendancy at all ? What can be done to improve that ?
2. My personal (and subjective) answer to your second question is - do not destroy something, unless either you are sure that a "wrong" (a false / an incompetency / an intentional missleading deed) has been done OR you have something to replace the destryed construction with; even a well-based, logical theory will do.
Here I see a lot of question marks (e.g. "TOO EARLY ON THE TREE?"): also, I cannot find, as another exeple of incertitude but nevertheless solidly built into the tree, any proof that Rashi himself was a deschndant of Yochanan HaSandlar other than a second- or third-hand hear-say that Rashi himself had, possibly, maybe mentioned that he might be the 36-th descendant on a male line of Yochanan HaSandlar.
