Did the British Legion send children to Australia?

Has anyone heard of the British Legion being involved in sending children to the colonies, specifically Australia? I added this profile back in Feb. and have just revisited it from my merge centre & noticed the curator note I left says his mother died young & he was sent to Aus by the B.Legion!

I have not seen anything on the British Legion sending anyone to the colonies.

I guess it may have been a one off or at least rare occurrence because his father was invalided in the war.
