This John Chase, of Newbury (1654- 1739) could not have been the son of Thomas Chase who died 1652. I've disconnected - I don't know where he belongs.

Aside from that I think his family is in good shape - please double check

Try

s of Thomas Chase, Elizabeth Philbrick

but other trees have other parents

9/19/2013 at 12:31 PM

Records of the descendants of Rev. Nathaniel Chase, of Buckfield, Maine : with a brief account of his ancestors : also records of some of the descendants of Edmund Chase of Minot, Maine (1878)

Thomas Chase m. Elizabeth Philbrook, children of Thomas and Mary Chase (I think this must be a typo instead of Elizabeth) James Chase b.1649 m. Elizabeth Green, Sept. 2, 1675.

9/19/2013 at 12:43 PM

Correct & James b 1649 m Elizabeth Green is all good

But this other James Chase b 1654 m Lydia Challis?

Internet trees have him as son of Thomas Chase d 1652, which is impossible

If we don't know his parents we should add a parents unknown note & perhaps profile so he doesn't join himself to the wrong parents again

Yes, let's find a way to add info to their Display Names or Curator Notes that helps people understand which is which.

This is quite a mess, cleaning up all these muddled trees, but I'm feeling very hopeful that, in the end, the Big Tree is going to be the better for it. Think how long it would have taken us to get around to straightening all this out if the Disaster of July 28 hadn't happened! ;-)

Ah - so his correct name is John, perhaps? There should be a NEHGR article examining "children of Aquilla Chase" - google books ....

No, John had a brother named James.

Private User

Born the same date. James belongs under Aquila. I shifted the profiles around.

I'm on my way to pick up my son from school, but can try to locate source docs when I get back. There's usually something to be found if I poke hard enough...

9/19/2013 at 2:46 PM

I think we got it now. Wow, that gave me a lot of tech errors.

The profile is sourced - we can move on to other damages.

Aquila Chase, of Newbury 's son, James Chase, went missing. LOL Where did he go?

9/19/2013 at 3:42 PM

He's back. You may need to refresh. I think this line is all good now & we can go back to the mega smerged profiles.

Daniel Chase

Oy vei iss Meir mein Gott in heaven ....

10 wives. Sorry this Puritan boy did not have a harem (only in his dreams).

Luckily his only children are Rundlett's (nice trick when his name is CHASE)

Fay Baldwin said she's work on Rundlett.

I'm going to work on the other 8 wives & report back.

9/20/2013 at 12:02 PM

Here is Jacob Rundlett

I suspect the children belong to him

9/20/2013 at 12:53 PM

I'll check with Reg...he holds the key to a group of Rundlett children attached to Daniel Chase in error...

His group are not the only Rundlett's attached to Daniel Chase as children...

Erica Howton and others I doing a final exam on this line if there are problems i will post them here but i don't expect any and have not found any yet any other areas covered in the documentation bellow that are under that chase name let me know and i will look em up using the sources bellow http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi... and http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~crutchley/WC02/WC... am starting with Thomas Chase Thomas Chase, of Hampton that data is ok . his
sons and daugthers ok
generation of james chase his son wife of Elizabeth Green sons and daugthers look ok (note that the roots web site only has info on certian ancestors but that is ok because for the most part this line is well sourced and documented)
Abigail Chace
her
husband John Chase hmm.. slight problem here.. site says James Chase
Jonathan Chase
Elizabeth Chase
Elihu Chase
John Chase [EWC Anc when ever this is shown on the roots web page the data is most accurate i have found the other siblings usally have empty data so more research is needed.. could do not merge be hannah? as seen bellow?
Hannah Chase
data on geni says Father of Jonathan Chase; Elihu Chase; Elizabeth Russell; James (Died Young) Chase; Hannah Fuller; do not merge and John Chase
(how to diffrenate from father of same name hmm.. age old question no easy answer with out reiventing the wheel geni handles it well though.
john chase John Chase, III ok..
going to take a break here and come back later.. so far so good..

Erica Howton and others part 2 ok wait.. about John Chase I see a hannah fuller there.. i'm confused.. geni lists john as her brother.. yet the website lists her as a daugther of john chase and Abigail.. hmm..
anyway as the website has no info on this no way to verify..
so moving on.. will look at that later.. also see two children listed as half siblings.. could that be because the wife remaired after his death? to me kids here Lydia Chase
and here Elizabeth Carr need to be looked at.. unless the son adpoted his fathers kids after the dad died those shouldn't be listed right?

john chase son of john
John Chase, III
thomas chase son of john jr ok
david chase son of thomas ok
David Chase, Sr. should be updated to read David Chase Lydia Felch
