Can someone explain how Margaret's birthday is 1595 and her son Wm 1600. Also is this the Wm who emigrated to Rhode Island USA about 1638.
I am a descendant the Wm who emigrated from Wales to Portsmouth Rode Island. I am vitally interested in who his first wife was and what children were born of that marriage and came to USA as well.
Thanks

Roy this tree has some issues & needs cleanup.
This does look like the 1638 emigrant to Portsmouth, but I see no claim to parents in the overview, much less a "lady.". Where did that come from?
Angus Wood-Salomon would you be able to help on the merges? You've been there before ... :)
I don't know the origin but I found it through my subscription on MyHeritage.com that lead me to Geni Tree and that's where it popped up. I was excited to see it as I have been trying to find deeper roots in England or Wales as well as trying clear up some issues. I thought I struck gold but maybe not.
Certainly put a note in to him but in the meantime we can do our own looking into it.
I see this "traditional" pedigree
http://www.elmwoodcem-kc.org/family_history/elmwoodce-h/pafg62.htm#...
With John Havens born about 1575 as the English ancestor. No wife noted.
Something like this is what I'd expect on most trees, and the clean up (William didn't have 23 children!) can use as a guide.
So we want next to understand how John Havens b 1575 acquired a wife named Margaret Holyng and if this is same couple who sent a son (stepson?) to America.
I am going to add whatever I can find on the Internet to this discussion
From http://www.lisa.com/bdm/h/havens/john_havens_13362.html
John Havens was born in 1575 in England, The Son of William Havens.
John Havens married Margaret Hulnig.
John Havens had 2 children. Their names are William Havens, and Richard Havens.
William Havens was born in 1620 in Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire, Wales, The Son of John Havens and Margaret Hulnig.
William Havens married Dionise Allen.
William Havens married Mary Sarah Brown on 1625.
John Havens passed away in 1622 in Wales.
========
So now we have an alternate name for Margaret & a bit more association with John Havens and
William Havens, of Portsmouth
And we will need to look for underlying records.

(many other trees on ancestry.com) has the same as the Lisa site - but offers a baptism record for Margaret

Which I will add to her the overview for her. I do not see a wedding record.
This tree has a good record to add to William's profile, which I will also do.
Now I should also note this ancestry tree - and others - have William Havens birth date as about 1618, not 1600. Which makes it "possible" for him to have been a son of a Margaret baptized in 1599.
William the immigrant's death date seems firm for 1685, which does argue for the later birth date.
The 1st wife "Dionis" seems correct.
Still no evidence supporting William as a child of John Havens and Margaret Havens
Six years is long enough to wait.
Disconnected.
