The death location is currently "Brooklyn" but in the marriage intention of her widower (just a week after her death - nice guy!) Theunis' place of residence is listed as "de Walebocht". This also aligns with some of the text in her About section.

I think we should change location to Wallabout.

One additional thought:

We know Sara lived in the house next door to her parents in New A and we know her husband had the patent on the land next to her father at Wallabout.

I don't recall any connection of Sara to Breuckelen, so perhaps "Brooklyn" is not referring to the original village but the modern borough?

Yes, I think Brooklyn did not yet exist at her death in 1687

Now it's an interesting question - was it the Wallabout or her husband's farm

" ... Hans Hansen Bergen whose pet name among his neighbors was 'Hans the Boar', obtained a patent for an additional 400 acres of land at Rennegaconck"

And I'm not sure when the county of Kings was formed.

Provisionally though Wallabout sounds right for the location.

I don't think Walebocht as they are using it at the time is synonymous with the modern neighborhood Wallabout. I think they are meaning the Wallabout Bay area, which would encompass several farms.

Agree - I don't think there really is a modern Wallebout actually or I would have fallen into it. :).

Just need to check if the British had organized into counties yet.

Is she also buried next to the high school basketball court?

"In 1664, the English conquer the Dutch and gain control of Manhattan, along with Brooklyn, which then becomes a part of the colony of New York. On November 1, 1683, the six colonies that make up Brooklyn are established as Kings County."

" once Wallabout Bay but has largely been filled in and is now the Brooklyn Navy Yard ..."

... Which is a good place to skateboard ...

You skate?

I roller skate & ice skate. Tend to fall off surf boards whether they have wheels or not.
