Does anyone have definitive info about Alys Perkins's parents???
I found this info:
• From: http://www.jeaniesgenealogy.com/2012/11/john-perkins-of-hillmorton-...
Thomas, date of birth unknown, wrote his will on 3 April 1528 and it was proved a few weeks later on 21 April.  His wife Alice outlived him by 10 years, she wrote her will in July 1538 and it was proved in October of that year.  A quick note about Alice, her maiden name is not known and she is definitely not the daughter of Sir Thomas and Edith (Constable) De Astley.  Thomas died in the Battle of Evesham in 1265 so I think that rules him out as her father.

Alys is not the daughter of Thomas D'Asltey and Edith Constable:
Sir Thomas D' Astley who married Edith Constable died at the battle of Evesham in the 1265. He is not the father of the Alice who married Thomas Perkins in Hillmorton. The D'Astley family left Hillmorton when one of the sons married an heiress in Norfolk. They still owned it but the family seat was in Norfolk.

On Thomas Astley & 2nd marriage to Edith Constable:

The Astley family were descended from Sir Thomas de Astley of Astley, Warwickshire, who was killed in the Battle of Evesham in 1265. He married twice.
• From his first marriage to Joane de Blois descended the Astley baronets of Patshull, whose family seat was at Patshull Hall, Staffordshire, and the Astley baronets of Everley, Wiltshire.
• From his second marriage to Editha Constable of Melton Constable, Norfolk, descended the Astley baronets of Melton Constable, the Astley baronets of Hillmorton (who succeeded as Barons Hastings – of the 1295 creation), and the Barons Astley of Reading.

These sites have more info on Thomas, her supposed father: None of the sites mention a daughter, Alys or Alice... They only mention 2 sons: William & Richard. Even his Find A Grave Memorial only mentions the sons!!!

I hope someone may have more info that will help figure out who the parents are for Alys Perkins.

Thanks for any and all contributions in helping find her parents.

Check the references within the profile for Edith Astley

Geni has her as the mother of Alys & daughter of Peter ap Constable. So you want to look for info about him.

Peter ap Constable is a very unlikely name. The element "ap" is Welsh for "son of" but Constable is an office, not a Welsh given name. And, it would be very odd if a man who lived in Norfolk had a Welsh name.
