I just came across an article of almost two years ago (in Dutch: http://nos.nl/artikel/580702-willem-i-en-iii-hadden-bastaarden.html)
where it is mentioned that king William I had four extramarital children with a woman called Julie von der Goltz (Juliane Karoline Philippine von der Goltz). The first one was born in October 1807

Juliane Karoline Philippine barones von der Goltz werd geboren op 5 september 1780 als tweede dochter van Karl Franz baron von der Goltz en Henriette Wilhelmine Bärmann

Arie, does anybody know the names of any illegitimate children of Willem III? If so, who were they, and when were they born? I ask the questions because there could be a possibility that a member of my mother's family who was born in The Hague on 13 August 1838 might be such a son. A 'story' is told by some family members that a family member was the illegitimate son of a William of Orange. That family member later became the Chief of the Dutch Army in the East Indies. There was also a royal decree in 1837 in terms of which the family name was changed to a 'double barrel' surname, as a kind of indication of 'aristocracy'.

Dankie vir die inligting, Richard. Nou weet ek. My vorige boodskap was gerig aan 'Arie' - ek moes 'Ard' getik het.
