Is he related to Vlad "The Impaler"?

Vladimir the Great, Grand Prince of Kiev is Vlad the Impaler Dracula, Prince of Wallachia's 12th great grandfather.

HA! If Vladimir the Great had died before having kids, we might not have vampire movies!

Vladimir the Great, my maternal 29th ggf.
He had 19 children.
GENI has him as
Son of Sviatoslav I Maluša and Malusha
Son of Igor, Grand Duke of Kiev
Son of Rurik, Founder of the Rurikid Dynasty
then, stops at an "unknown father" & Husband of Umila, dau. of Gostomysl

My line goes to France with Vladimir the Great's, grand- daughter Anna,
daughter of Yaroslav l "The Wise"

I'd love to see the line to Vlad.
Which child should I follow?

I did see, Vlad the Impaler Dracula, Prince of Wallachia is my first cousin 23 times removed's wife's grandson.
Direct from Eufemia Mazowiecka my maternal 22nd great grandmother.
Why does it not go back to Vladimir the Great.

Vladimir the Great is my 27th ggrandfather, according to Geni. I am descended from his son, Yaroslav 'the Wise'. Vlad the Impaler doesn't 'feature' in my lineage.

I believe so. Saint Vladimir is an ancestor to all Royals. But Vlad the Impaler had a lot of Russian blood in him so I believe so. Saint Vladimir is an ancestor to all Royals. But Vlad the Impaler had a lot of Russian blood in him and also Lithuanian.

Vladimir the Great, Grand Prince of Kiev is my 29th great grandfather. It seems to go two ways through
Boleslava Sviatoslavna of Chernigov
his mother → Sviatoslav III Vsevolodovich
her father → Vsevolod II Olegovich
his father → Oleg Mikhaïl Sviatoslavich "Gorislavich" / Prince of Chernigov
his father → Sviatoslav II Jaroslavič
his father → Yaroslav l "The Wise"
his father → Vladimir the Great, Grand Prince of Kiev
his father

But if I go to Boleslava Sviatoslavna'd husband Volodimir Yaroslavich Galitski
and follow all the fathers up lead to Vladimir the great ???

Vladimir Sviatoslavich, Grand Duke if Kievof/ Kiev is my 27th great grandfather:

I think they're confused, I do not want to offend anyone because I am not, nor do I pretend to be an expert but I think Vladimir "The Great" is not Vlad "The Impaler", the first born almost 500 years before the second and Vladimir "The great "born in modern Ukraine and Vlad" the Impaler "in Romania.

Confusion about history is one way that legends get started I think.

Vladimir the Great, Grand Prince of Kiev is my 25th great grandfather.

He just went from my 31st to 27th great grandfather so there has been some changes there.

Private User It could be due to the calculation being made from both your father's ancestry and your mother's ancestry - if both are descended from Vladimir the Great, there could easily be a difference in the number of ancestors from each of your parents to Vladimir the Great.

Vera Vadimovna Narishkina thanks :) Dads tree isn't that well done yet, I think there has been merges that is compressing the tree, as it should as it goes toward completeness.

Prince of Kiev Volodymyr Sviatoslavich is my 27th great grandfather.
