On a personal note (my probable by not proven line ) Dionys Isaacqs (Denys Isaacszen van Hartenvelt) was from Wijk bj Duurstede; and Ofaff Stevense van Cortland was too. Van Cortland was closely associated with the giant Killian Van Rensselaer...
My thought is that there may be so much going on here that does not meet the eye.
Even though "Dionys" was a blue-collar type of guy and seemingly a drinker (recorded as having stabbed a man in a NA tavern brawl), van Cortland did stand witness for his child in the DRC. My objective is to have a flag jump up with the de Forest family so that I'll remember to look into this topic some more later on...
