The Franks. However, modern scholars, such as Edward James, do not accept this account in the Liber Historiae Francorum as historical, because Marcomer is called the son of the Trojan king Priam. Traditionally Marcomer is also known as Marcomir VI, a descendent of King Priam Podarces of Troy by Priam's son Helenus from whom the Kings of Cimmerian Bosporus descend.
Creators on Geni, has anyone done the research to prove that King Priam isn't the father of Marcomer or King Priam son Helenus.?Also, this says that Marcomir IV, is also the same as Maromer I. On Geni they are two sperate individuals from two different fathers.
Pretty much everything that far back is a tangled web of guesswork, wishful thinking, and mythmaking. You can definitely discount any connection between any specific Trojans and *anybody* else, as the whole "Trojan war" thing started with Homer's "Iliad" and "Odyssey", composed circa 800-700 BC, some four or five centuries after whatever the actual events were (and researchers don't even agree about *that*).
