The Ann who was baptized 22 April 1577 was Ann FULLER (maiden name) who was the SISTER of Edward and Samuel Fuller of the Mayflower. Edward didn't marry his sister. It's believed Ann Fuller (sister of Edwd and Saml) married one of the ate least two (2) different William Whites in Leyden in 1612. One of them was still there after the Mayflower sailed. Ann is not Susanna who later married Edward Winslow--Ann was 18 years older than Winslow.

The Fullers lived in Redenhall, Norfolk, not Suffolk as shown in the Profile.

The Mayflower Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society's Publication "Great Migration Begins" and Fuller researchers and historians agree that no one knows her first or last name. "Ann" didn't work out. Since we don't know the name of the wife of Edward Fuller we don't know her birth date or place.

See the Media tab for a clip from the 2003 publication of the Third Supplement to Torrey's "New England Marriages Prior to 1700" where her name appears as two blank _____ lines ______.

The current Ancestry.com Green Leaf Hint for Mrs. Fuller's name is using the 2004 REPRINT of the original 1985 edition using Torrey's pre-1963 notes (he never had a last name for her).

If you have Ancestry search for Edward Fuller (b 1575) at "New England, The Great Migration and The Great Migration Begins, 1620-1635" pub by NEHGS in 1995 at

. . . . His wife's name appears as 2 blank ____ lines _____ p712 (image #787)

See how Caleb Johnson thinks Savage came up with "Ann" many years ago at the updated URL:

We don't know Edward or his wife's death date but every exact date shown on the internet and in any tree is a guess. We know they both died AFTER 11 Jan 1621 and BEFORE 11 Apr 1621, but not in a place called "Inventory, Plymounth, MA" as seen in one of the wife's "Confirmed Matches".

I have no idea who was born between Jan 11 1581 and Jan 10 1582 as seen in one of the "Confirmed Matches". Does anyone have any clue for that date?

Her name is not Ann Paine Hopkins or Ann Jean Hopkins. The Hopkins error only started appearing on trees around 2006 and commoners commonly didn't have middle names back then. None of the Pilgrims had middle names and only 3 men who signed the Dec. of Indep. No Hopkins or Fuller researchers/historians consider Hopkins to be a viable maiden name.

Beware any tree that states it used "OneWorldTree" as a source. It might be a source but it isn't a historic document or record. It's a database compiled by a programmed computer sweep through submittals from people of often just collected names. Ancestry discontinued OWT in 2008 because of all the errors. Same problems with AF, PRF and contributed IGI files on LDS. Most of the current ones are just recycled errors from the original IGIs that were discontined also in 2008 because of errors.

I for one greatly appreciate your knowledgeable comments and suggestions. I see Erica has followed up already.

I'm a Fuller descendant through their son. Actually since so many of my family were here between 1620 - 1640, I'm a descendant of many of the passengers :) Although not Hopkins.

Holy Moly! Thanks for doing all this.

I did some more cleanup of the overview and corrected the dates & locations. I don't think I'm a direct descendant of any Mayflower, but I'm a cousin. Used to be closest through the Alden's -- a marriage to the Alden grandson, accused of witchcraft. (Figures.)

What happened is that the rest of the Great Migration generation (1620 - 1640, my earliest arrivers) married in to the 21 reproducing Mayflowers. Because who else was there.

Sorry--I forgot to add this reference in my original message:

See recorded Fuller baptisms in Redenhall, Norfolk at

The Ann who was baptized 22 April 1577 was Ann FULLER (maiden name) who was the SISTER of Edward and Samuel Fuller of the Mayflower. We don't know the birth date or place of the unknown wife of Edward Fuller of the Mayflower.

On Matthew Fuller's page
Dr. Matthew Fuller, of Barnstable
(comparing to the link with the baptisms), please note that the child bapt 16 Oct 1603 was the son of John Fuller and wife Margaret (possibly Ball).

The first link in Matthew's "About" section is dead so I offer this one for details about lastest discussions that that Matthew probably isn't the one who arrived in Plymouth abt 1640.
