After a few merges today Saertje Bogardus now has a Data Conflict around her birth.

Date-wise the two options are 13 October 1665 and c. 1676 with locations Beaverwyck, Albany, New York, USA or New York City, New York Co., NY.

The very specific date would presumably be a baptism date rather than a birth date (typically) but unfortunately Albany baptism records only exits back to 1683 so regardless of which date we look at there is no baptism. On the other hand New Amsterdam baptisms exist back to the 1640s but no possible matching baptisms exist so she was not baptised in NY either in 1665 nor 1676.

I think this points to her birth place being modern day Albany, though whether she was born in "Beaverwijk" or "Albany" depends on which date we are looking at.

Problematically her father, Willem Bogardus, baptised all his children at New Amsterdam (probably owing to his father being the original Dominie, Dominie Everardus Bogardus) so we can't be sure where Willem was living but we can be sure that it is unusual he did not baptise Saertje in NA/NYC.

There is also the question of Willem's second marriage, Saertje currently shows as a daughter of Warburgha Nicasius Kreiger but in 1665 her father was still married to Weijntje Sijbrants. By 1676 he is married to Walborg so Saertje's mother depends on which DOB is correct.

IF Willem is her father?

It looks odd to me that at the (only) baptism i can find for her child(ren) her father is not the witness even tho he is still alive for another 10 years:

1701 Jun 08; Pieter Van Pelt, Sara Bogardus; Blandina; Everardus Bogardus (her brother?), Blandina Bogardus (her sister?)

Admittedly naming the child after a maternal aunt implies that this is at east the 3rd daughter born to this couple..

You might be well advised to check Brooklyn, NY baptisms, since he and his brother both were owners of the Gowanus over there. Many of the further generations lived in the area.
