The entire ancestry of this Robert Harris proposed by William Deyo was published by James Phil Harris in an Article he published as a Message entered on the RootsWeb Harris-VA-L Mailing List on May 1,2001. Phil has recently refuted all of this lineage of Robert Harris except that he could be the son of the William Harris of Jamestown, but all of the rest is unproven and mostly proven wrong by DNA that was not available in 2001 when he wrote the article. At that time Phil did not even accept Mary Claiborne Rice as the wife of this Robert Harris, but has changed his beliefs since then.
Is the ancestry showing for William Harris of Jamestown consistent with current DNA studies?
I take it best practice would be to link as unproven parents?
According to Phil Harris, None of the line back before the William Harris of Jamestown is accurate for the same exact DNA reason that I have been citing to William Deyo who won't take the proof of different DNA as a reason. He keeps trying to inject non-parental events as possibilities but that reasoning does not hold water in the face of different Haplogroups.
Yes, it would be more accurate to list the parents of Robert Harris d1701 as unproven William Harris of Jamestown and Ellen Burruss.
It is now apparent that the website shown to this linage back to Arthur Harris and Joane Percy, is a verbatim copy of the message sent by Phil Harris in 2001 for which he gave NO ONE permission to copy according to his email to me yesterday, which RootsWeb nor Ancestry has his permission to copy or publish as William Deyo has done for profit. I would therefore advise this linkage be removed as a possible copyright violation.
I think I'm still not clear.
Should
Should William Harris of Jamestown be disconnected as son of
William Harris, of Willingale Doe ?
