I have doubts about the link between Alexander (Elisha) and his supposed father Lourenco.
1. The only source for this is Lucien Wolf, Jews in the Canary Islands. he provides a statement, but no evidence.
2. Alexander is born in Venice, according to his marriage ban. Wold says nothing about Venice in his account of Lourenco's life.
3. Lourenco is married in 1653, Alexander in 1706. Quite a gap, not unusual, but needs explanation.

I suggest cutting the link until real evidence emerges. Thank you.

I think you are missing some generations. I’m traveling and don’t have my info with me. But think you are skipping some.

No, I am not missing some generations, I am reacting to what Geni says about this Alexander Lindo, and his supposed father. I think this family has its roots in Antwerp, not in London.

Both, actually. Also France. They were on hard times and moved often. Originated in Portugal, and though I don’t have documentation for it , probably Spain before that.

Jackie Ranston has a well researched book “The Lindo Legacy” that traces them back to Joao Rodrigues Lindo, who was tried and convicted of Judaism in 1630. His sons scattered throughout Europe after that.

Jackie Ralston, in her book, follows Lucien Wolf in his erroneous ways, she does not provide fresh evidence for something that still needs proof, and is not very likely.
