Which profiles on which page are you referring to? I wasn't completely clear. If you are talking about:
Southern Gateway Ancestors of Proven Royal Descent
https://www.geni.com/projects/Southern-Gateway-Ancestors-of-Proven-...
Those profiles at the bottom are actually all proven Gateway ancestors but they don't exist on the GENI tree. So at some point they need to be added to the GENI tree. The Southern project has had the least amount of attention regarding the GENI tree updates needed. But the project page list are all 100% correct.
We don't have a questionable gateway ancestors project on GENI like they do on Wikitree. But we do have a spurious pedigrees project: which is sort of a catch all right now for everything unproven or disproved:

John Fisher, Jr. of Northampton County, VA actually IS on Geni, and has been since 2008. It's the "Jr." that seems to have thrown people off.
Having a quick look, I think Laura Kaufman is talking about Profiles that have been added to the Project.
eg Gore Vidal
Another that jumps out to me is Richard Jay Rubenstein and Chelsea Clinton
Let's be careful here not to mix up project intents.
https://www.geni.com/projects/Gateway-profiles/23377 was not meant to be a royal ancestry project, the focus was non traditional gateways from one "world" to another "world," and could be personal in nature.
Gore Vidal in fact was a find from my known ancestry to the rest of the world. And connected me to the big tree.
I had thought the project objective clear enough but obviously not. :). So a project rename is in order.
Personal gateways?
Non traditional gateways ?
Here's the discussion that kicked off the Project https://www.geni.com/projects/Gateway-profiles/23377 back in 2014
https://www.geni.com/discussions/142988?msg=981960
I've renamed the project to "Personal Gateways" unless someone has a better suggestion.
I have several "Personal Gateway" ancestors:
Maternal grandfather Joseph J. Capossela > gateway to Calitri, Italy
Paternal great-grandmother Laura Virginia (Waters) Helms > gateway to Anne Arundel County, MD
Paternal great-grandfather (grandmother's father) John R. Hanby > gateway to Accomack/Northampton, VA and much more.
I could probably count several more, but these are by far the most "active".
Right, the idea being that genealogically, we (Americans especially, just to boast) have gateways to different cultures, from the royal families of Europe to native cultures to immigrants from Calabria; why are we confined to the traditional term?
Then of course we needed projects for the traditional. :). But I didn't feel genealogically experienced enough to spearhead those.
Richard Jay Rubenstein is my father, by the way. In marrying my mother he connected a bunch of Eastern European Jewish families, some of whom are rabbinical families, to 15 Mayflower passengers :)
I'm not sure Personal Gateways is enough of a name switch so no one else will be confused.
