Medieval Lands, which is sourced for this profile, does not list this individual as having any children.

Hunter, your observation is correct.

Justin Durand yourself and George added one of the daughter's profiles but gave no source. Care to comment?

The two women have wandered a bit from what I entered. The result of merges, no doubt.

I had Stéphanie (not Étiennette), daughter of Thierry IV (not Thierry III) and wife Gertrude von Habsburg, daughter of Otto II von Habsburg and his wife Ita de Ferrette (not Wernher II von Habsburg and his wife Ita von Starkenberg).

MedLands calls her Etienette but cites a contemporary document that calls her "Stephania mea matre". No problem there. Either Stéphanie or Étiennette would be acceptable Gallicizations.

I don't want to make this more complicated than it needs to be. The basic idea is that the source I used combined the two Thierrys, father and son, and made Gertrud a sister of Wernher II rather than his daughter.

If we need it, I can pull my notes and go over this in more detail. but this is a case where I'd put more trust in MedLands citations.

Alex Moes, are you going to do the cleanup here? Or do you want me to do it?

Just about to head off to work now, but I can do a little dusting this evening.

We seem to be missing a Ludwig von Saarwerden

Ludwig I von Saarwerden, Graf von Saarwerden

Cawley is telling us there are two sons named Ludwig
http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/ALSACE.htm#FolmarSaarwerdendied1165 tho it seems a bit strange to me.

I don't see the link immediately but Ludwig(s) mother Etiennette de Montbéliard has the Von Salm family crest as her profile picture which must be why I was working on Ludwig's profile back in 2014.

not sure what will happen if i use Abandoned Tree on Eudes de La Roche-sur-l'Ognon
Shall i try? :)

The area is looking good, Alex.

If you use the Abandoned Tree function, nothing major will happen. Geni will look for another manager to add. Might find something, might not.

I was wondering if it will give management back to you Justin, i'll give it a try!

Hunter Winn, your original query was about the erroneous children of Gertrud. I have moved them to their correct position in the tree as her sisters-in-law and locked up this portion of the tree. Thanks for letting us know there was an issue.

Alex, I don't think management will come back to me. I removed myself as manager at some point. That's something I do with profiles that are not part of my core interests. I'm not one of those people who are stuck on being managers for every profile they touch ;)

No, it went to the father of the inactive manager, which this high in the tree seems like a dubious choice. Obviously the bias is built into the code for profiles much closer to living people.

My understanding is that it tracks back to the user who added the current manager, if that person is still active, then to the person who added that person, and so on back until it doesn't find anyone.

Which makes perfect sense within modern times but not for medieval or ancient profiles.
A Croatian cousin added me to the tree but if i ever quit assigning my late medieval dutch ancestors or Icelandic settler profiles from Landnamabok would make no sense.
