Hello, I think this profile is combining two different people.
There is Elizabeth Atherton, first wife of Timothy Mather. She died in 1678 and there is Elizabeth (Unknown) who married first William Weeks, of Dorchester and then Timothy Mather in 1679, she died in 1710 at age 79. The George Weeks Elizabeth is not an Atherton, she is unknown unfortunately and Elizabeth Atherton Mather did not marry George Weeks. Also, this profile is giving a death of Jan 1684 which is the death date of Timothy Mather.
The 1717 distribution to the grandchildren/heirs of Humphrey Atherton lists all adult children and their heirs and there is only Elizabeth Mather the first wife Atherton listed as she had all his children. There is no child listed as Catherine or heirs of a Catherine, only heirs of Elizabeth Mather in the detailed probate/court documents relating to the grandchildren's claim 50 years after the death of Humphrey Atherton.
Does anyone want to discuss? Erica Howton? Thanks.

They have first wife Elizabeth Atherton, second wife Elizabeth Weeks, married 20 March 1679
Hi Erica. Yes, I agree these are two different people. Many trees and some genealogies show the first wife had a sister Catherine Elizabeth Atherton who is Elizabeth Weeks Mather, but this is not proven and the Humphrey Athertons late 1717 probate shows no heirs of a Catherine Atherton, nor any participation by William Weeks in Humphrey Atherton's original 1661 probate, like the other sons-in-laws (Mather, Trowbridge & Swift).
I hate that she is unknown, but she is!
