For a variety of reasons my focus turns to Roberts men such as William Roberts

1) Like James Roberts of Northampton he was poor. In fact it would surprise me deeply to be convinced that James came from any Roberts family of substance.
2) William's father Timothy died w/o leaving the family much. But, as yet, I have not assembled much on WIlliam's situation, other than that he was a non-landowning farmer in Bensalem.
3) 201-202 * William 1-3-1 = 5 with three males over 16 = the 1790 census in brief. I am writing up a tabular document about all Roberts of Bucks which I hope will shed some light on things.

William Roberts won't be the only candidate... but let me complete a few notes:

I put other musings at placeholder stub father Roberts

1828 bensalem tax .. near each other = jesse w/71 ac & william w/64

these two are next to each other in the 1790 table also!

Another remaining prospect is Edmond Roberts of Northampton who married a Van Horn and died in Northampton township in 1770.

Brakey ''(Bridget/Brechje)'' Roberts (Cornell) whose [Elsje Cornell mother] was a Kruson is also buried in the same churchyard as Garret. It is interesting that Garret had a child named Jesse Roberts Krewson who in 1810 was in school with the children of [James Roberts of Northampton James Roberts]. James has indications of being Brakey's son.

* the [https://www.geni.com/path/Michael-M-van-Beuren+is+related+to+Jesse-... '''''path'''''] (proposed by me) supports my suppostion > through the CRAVEN family connection. These branches of the ROBERTS and CRAVEN families seem to have been rendered destitute in this period following the American Revolution. I have made it a mission to flesh this out over a number of years. (see discussions and documents attached to John and Brakey Roberts and their proposed/supposed grand daughter Phebe Saxton (Roberts)

Parenthetically,
I have just been looking into the case of Jesse Roberts Kruson whose mother was a CRAVEN... Again, the path cited is rater compelling in my estimation.
