The ancestry of Leod, the eponymous of Clan MacLeod, cannot be identified from authentic record evidence. A number of propositions have been made concerning this but none can be proved. The merits of the various suggestions are are discussed in the following publications: 1. https://archive.org/details/historyofmacleod00mack/page/n6 2. https://archive.org/details/historyofmacleod00mack/page/5 3. https://ssns.org.uk/resources/Documents/Books/NWRoss_1994/09_Halfor... 4. https://web.archive.org/web/20080513072921/http://www.macleodgeneal... In the absence of unequivocal evidence I propose that his profile be disconnected from his mythical ancestors.

No. I am saying that it is not possible to identify the ancestry of Leod.

So, no decent Sources for any father?

I agree -- Sellars theorizes that Guillemuire is Leod's father, but it's not a sure thing.

I plan to detach and add notes -- I will discuss this over on the sources discussion I link to right about this.

Leod, the first Chief of Clan MacLeod has a Doppelgänger:

Leòd Óláfsson

After going through Sellar's article, I'm changing my mind -- I think we should leave Guillemuire.

Reasoning over on the other discussion line.
