This Abaye is not the famous Abaye the Kohen, but another who was descended from the Exilarchs and is thus a Davidic descendant and non-Kohen.

Someone has corrupted this profile and several of his descendants.

Somebody added the words Kohen Sedeq to his name and to numerous of his descendants, which is incorrect. Someone also added an incorrect biography for him, which is actually the biography of Abaye the sage who lived many centuries earlier.
