Hello,
I was wondering where you found his name as Joseph R? I have found NO records stating that, Nor Hans Conrad or John Conrad Graf/Groff, Hans translates to John in English, this is the Only site I see him as Joseph R Graf. but I have seen Hans Graf b. 1661 Switzerland moved to Alsace, France in 1695 [persecution being Mennonites] where he was known as "Baron Von Weldon" until he migrated to america in 1696[2nd source PG 27] West Earl Township Lancaster, Pennsylvania - He was the first settler in 1717, named in his honor 1729 "Earl being the English of Graf." Settlement was made at the head of Groff's Run.
He purchased 1419 Acres of land from John
Richard, S Thomas Penn, for 141L. 18 S.
[equal to $686.80] along Groff's Run. He Built
a log Cabin on the old Groff farm A.D. 1717.
His purchase included the land on which the
Groffdale Meeting House is built.
Died A.D. 1746." [3rd. Find A Grave]

I have the History of My Hans Graf/Groff written in a few books, backed by the Mennonite Records.

Sorry I don't see an Edit so I will add this here.
You must be some other line, but you have My Susanna Orndorff Kendig as his wife, & she is diffidently in my sources as being with Hans John Graf/Groff , buried with him in Groffdale Mennonite Brick Church Cemetery.

you can view the family tree at the PA Archives here...

Perhaps you are looking at the wrong part of the tree. Did you want Hans Graff?

Thank You, I found him yesterday, do you know how they are connected? I am paternally related to Hans Graf line that founded Sharpsburg, MD & a Maternal distant cousin descends from this line that migrated to Augusta/Rockingham county area of the Shenandoah Valley they both changed to "Grove"

You do have Susannah Orendorf Groff (Graf) (Kendig) attached to this Joseph R. 'Hans Conrad' Graf - Hans Graf/Groff ? that was the wife of my Hans Graf with His death date on her, she died the same year but unknown date, Hans has 2 Susanna's attached to him on find a grave, Kendig & Orndorf, [KENDIG Notes;Came to Pennsylvania with her husband in 1703 or 1704; perhaps her surname is unknown and that Hans Jagli Kündig and Elsbeth Meili, reputed parents of Susanna had no daughter Susanna, and the father of Hans Jagli was Jorg Kündig.] at the PA Archives Hans Graf Document link I left above just states "Susanna Orndorff" & folks in my Branch are adding the "Kendig" when they should not be.

Your Susanna maybe correct, except for a lot of her Bio, they could have had the Exact same childrens names as my Hans & Susanna, but some dates are matching on them too & Death & Burial Info that is connecting her to Hans Graf

I am still trying to find evidence for these individuals also - have been for yearsl I have a printed biography of the Grafs in Shenandoah Valley, but I still end up with a problem.
The Graf/Groff interchange makes it extremely difficult. I have found three different marriages for Susanna but the dates will not work.

Jim: Do you have knowledge of the Grove Reunion Association who claimed to be preparing a genealogy of the descendants of Hans Graf? June Byers Gibble
