After this next cleanup I’m locking all the relationships also. He’s a popular profile and there’s a lot of Martin mixups.

I will break the tree at a one of the children. I’m just separating the Gedcom duplicate that introduced 31 more children into the tree, including poorly formatted biographies. The mother of John and Joseph Martin was Susannah Page Martin, John and Joseph had a sister named Susannah, Joseph’s second wife was a Susannah, and he had a daughter named Susannah.

I'm maternally DNA related to the Martin and Chiles lineage.
These are my cousins----- not my direct paternal Martin lineage, but I have cousins who are convinced we're paternally linked to Joseph Martin and Johanna Rawlinson lineage-----we do not!

Yes, Gen Martin still has too many children, and perhaps some are missing spouses.

And, for instance, there may be McGehee and Peery descent but I’m not sure and not sure whose.

Isaac Martin of Abemarle is “not” in this Martin family.

perhaps if I come across an Indian son love child named Joseph Martin my cousins may be correct, doubt if he had 2 son's named Joseph.

Was Nancy Ann Peery a daughter ?

No. Not a sister or a child. She was a contemporary. Joseph Martin Sr died in the winter of 1760-61. Named his children in his will: Brice, William, Joseph, John, George, Susannah, Ann, Mary, Olive, Sarah. Might be a Martha who pre-deceased her father.

Son of Capt Joseph Martin, Sr. & Susannah Chiles. Husband of Sarah Lucas & Susannah Graves. He had two children by Betsy Ward, the only Cherokee “wife” whose name is known. The children were Nancy and James Martin. 17 children in all.

Time for clean up… he has more than 17 children attached to profile.
