For now, NO one to date has shared any documented proof that George was this John and Mary MILLS son.
The Lavenham is just surmised by the entries listed in the book on
THE WINTHROP FLEET of 1630. previously I read it and made copies of those pages with any MILLS names listed.
This was back before 1993 at the Culver City Public Library in Culver City, CA. Before I moved up to Portland Oregon.
Those pages now have been lost through moving.
Or he could truly be 'a' John MILLS son, as there was mentioned of a MILLS person in the book on the Mayflower ships.

No specific ship was mentioned on that page either. Also lost in moving.
However, that book did NOT have this person MILLS listed in the back of the book INDEX or Contents.
Not sure how they go over looked? May be that their descendant did not PAY to have their name put in the book, as was the

custom back in those days. Everyone had to PAY for that notation.

Detaching George Mills as son of John Mills, of Lavenham & Mary Mills

Even without more citations, the locations make no sense.

Notes

“ George Mills' life is based upon many theories and contradictions including questions concerning his wife and his descendants and thier wives. A scholastic endeavor by Helen Schatvet Ullmann, CG, in her book, "A Mills and Kendall Family History," Newberry Street Press, Boston, 2002 traces her lineage from George Mills. She lists many references and facts in her footnotes to support her theories”

The Hall-Murray-Duggan-Edwards (HMDE) Family Tree on Ancestry.com cites several sources regarding "George Augustus Mills, Miles, Mylles + Immigrant (1585–1674)." One of them, the "London, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812 (London Metropolitan Archives; London, England; Reference Number: P93/DUN/265)" is purported to show that George was first married to Margarett Glanfall (1586–1627) on 30 Feb. 1618 at St. Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, Middlesex, England -- before marrying Rebecca Tanner. The date of Ms. Glanfall's death (1627 according to this Ancestry entry) would seem to contradict various dates given for George's marriage to Rebecca Tanner, which are listed variously as 1620 (on FamilySearch.org/Geni.com) and 1623 (on Ancestry). To further confuse matters, the Ancestry entry actually gives two different dates for his marriage to Ms. Tanner, the first in 1623, the second in 1629. No sources are listed for either of those dates.

The Ancestry record lists the birth of George's son Nathaniel as 1611 (or roughly 7 years before George's marriage to Ms. Glanfall), while FamilySearch.org and Geni.com list Nathaniel's birth as 1637 (after his marriage to Ms. Tanner). There are also discrepancies for some of George's other children -- such as Samuel (1619 or 1631), Zachariah (1630 or 1644), and Bethiah (1633 or 1622).

Most notably, in light of previous discussions here on Geni.com, the Ancestry record lists George's parents as John Mills/Myles, Reverend, Pastor, Clergy (1562–1675) and Mary Jane Farrington /*+ Mills, Immigrant (1564–1665). Those birth and death dates seem extremely implausible, making John ~113 years old and Mary ~101 years old at their deaths.

Assuming for a moment that there could be some veracity to George's parents being John Mills and Mary Jane Farrington from Lavenham, it's not inconceivable that George was born in York, which is not so distant from Lavenham. Rebecca Tanner (George's presumed second wife) was born in Lavenham, as were all of George's siblings (Daniel, William, Sarah, Elizabeth), if the John & Mary parentage is to be believed.
