Littleberry married Nancy Adkins, daughter of Mary Adkins. This is what the marriage bond shows. They were 1st cousins. DNA continues to prove that Mary's children were not fathered by a Harley. At least two sons were fathered by a Stover and one a Oxford. Not an Earl of Oxford, a man with the surname of Oxford although the exact connection to the Oxford line has yet to be determined as far as I am aware.
There may have been a second marriage to an Ann but I am not aware of any documentation that proves that. There are land deeds of Littleberry with a wife Anna who relinquishes her dower rights. The Cabell County "deed bk 3 pages 372, 374, 375, and 379 shows Littleberry and Anna deeding land to sons Hezekiah, Jessee, Isom and daughter Christina (wife of David Fry)." Source: Adkins, Ronnie, "The Adkins Family of Wayne County, West Virginia, Also Cabell, Lincoln and Boone", Bookcrafters, Virginia: 1990, page 28-33.
Even in Ronnie's book he adds the information on Anna under the listing for Nancy but never actually uses that as part of her name which is a bit confusing to me. At best that should make her Nancy Anna Adkins. The Harley surname should never be used for her since no one of the Harley name has ever been identified in any location in Virginia near the Adkins family- and many people have searched high and low for that proof.
