I 'think' there has been some confusion perhaps of some same-name guys because everything I've found on this Adam indicates his parents were Alexander and Helen (Buchanan) Colquhoun. I'm listing the references for that and will disconnect the additional parents from him that are causing him to currently have conflicting sets of parents:

Adam was the 5th of 11 children born to Sir Alexander Colquhoun 1573-1617, 15th Clan Chief of Colquhoun, 17th of Luss and Margaret Helen Buchanan.
